Only good thing Microsoft has done for me Is that it brought me the Halo franchise into my home...we all know Halo was suppose to be for the PC...thats about it...also good times with Xbox and 360...but not as good as Nintendo or Sony not even close

Ok, Microsoft defeated Microsoft by not copying the one true gaming company™ and instead copied the company that made a bad copy of itself. So that makes the Xbox 360 a bad copy of a bad copy of a good console, AKA a cheap knock-off of a cheap knock-off.

I heard a rumor saying sony will drop the PS3 to 299 just in time for the holiday season, going by the last time they dropped the price it was I think late october early november, but will it be too late by then? what's crazy is microsoft will have another major halo title by then (Halo 3: ODST) which is supposed to launch in september, even more exclusive games (Alan Wake, etc) and content (GTA 4: episode 2) and a possible 150 360 arcade , it will be interesting to see how things pan out this holiday season.

Well if anyone wants my humble opinion. By this point in time I would have bet the farm that the PS3 would have already dominated the market. I mean the PS1 and PS2 had unprecedented success yet even the PS3 with its large fan base does not have impressive sales figures.

The PS3 also appears to just be bleeding money. I’m not saying the PS3 isn’t worth $400 given everything it offers, but most people do not want to pay that much and if Sony keeps dropping the price that’s only more money being lost for their monster of a machine.

As far as I’m aware the Xbox 360 is doing fine. It has already sold many more consoles than the original Xbox and that trend will of course continue. Xbox Live also seems to be a great success while Sony’s online service is probably at their detriment.

When it comes to the software both consoles deliver games the masses want. When it comes to sales it appears 360 games are more in demand. And for the price difference I really wish the PS3 could at least offer superior visuals as opposed to about equal minus the anti-aliasing.

I doubt the PS3 will catch up or even sell more units than the 360. I mean the boost in sales required for that would have to be huge. Sony is planning to drop the price down to $300 but that still might be more money than people are willing to pay. And if Sony drops the price what would stop Microsoft from making the same move? It probably won’t be long before the 360 Arcade is $150 and the Premium is $200.
