I think the real issue is that the only game that you listed there that has quality is Star Ocean. I am not sure about how much JRPG's traditionally sell, but unless a game is something special it is not going to do Final Fantasy numbers.

Come on, do you people still believe that a JRPG, especially one that uses an already existing engine (i.e. The Last Remnant) that sells over 500k is a massive flop? JRPGs have never been a big genre. Anyone expecting huge sales from a genre like this needs to get a slap in the face. Now. (Unless the game has Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest in it's name.)

why !!! what is squareenix possibly gaining from this! |
Sure as hell they do gain something from this if they want so desperately to continue.
Hints: Microsoft. Help. Money.

This^^
so if they sell one copy thats profit, and thats why the quality suck

no my freind you dont get it
these are hard times for rpg fans , and putting these rpgs on one side of the market aint going to help the sales .
Please hatmoza 2.0, work on your grammar and spelling. It is atrocious.

Does SquareEnix think it can solve all its problems by jumping to a new console everytime the going gets tough !? i mean look at these numbers !! what are they trying to prove ?? are they trying to find out how low they can go!? Now if they werent so stubborn and just went same day release on the multiplats , they would easily be above the 1.5 million mark right now ....even star ocean. |
Can nobody tell sarcasm in these htreads anymore? Theres no way hatmoza is being serious. Sounds more like a parody of the PS3 fanboys here, but hat you need to make it more obvious next time around.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
I'll just quote myself from another thread:
The Last Remnant uses the Unreal 3 engine and SE had huge problems with porting the game to the PS3. However for a mediocre JRPG The Last Remnant sold great and you can't deny that. Even Infinite Undiscovery made a nice profit.
