Forums - Sales - SquareEnix continues to make an Ass out of itself.

Square enix should get "bought" out by EA and then and only then would we see "true" multiplatform games. Oh! plus we would get a final fantasy every year next a copy of madden.

That sounds like the old EA. I think the publisher you're looking for is Activision-Blizzard.

I'd actually like to see that. An annual Final Fantasy would be hilarious.

Hard times for JRPG fans? No hard time for fanboys. JRPG fans buy the consoles with JRPGs. Fanboys buy consoles without JRPGs and whine about not having any JRPGs to play. Then they proceed to hit up video game forums and troll posts for the JRPGs they can't play because they didn't bother to check the release lists before making their purchase. This isn't 2005. It's obvious where the JRPGs are going at this point. Either buy the hardware that can play it, or shut up about it and give the rest of us true JRPG fans some peace.

This.

The PS1/PS2 era is over.
If you want to play JRPGs, you know what to buy.

Just because PS2 is old doesn't mean you ignore two of the best JRPG to release in the last 2 years, or all the other excellent JRPG on the system for that matter.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Escpecially since they would be rushed and have technical issues if that really did happen.  EA don't want to go that route again since they know that it pretty much ruined the Need for Speed series.  Final Fantasy games have been known for polish and due to that as well as other reasons, the series has managed to maintain its credibility and popularity unlike Sonic, Tomb Raider, Need for Speed, Tekken, etc.

Come on, do you people still believe that a JRPG, especially one that uses an already existing engine (i.e. The Last Remnant) that sells over 500k is a massive flop? JRPGs have never been a big genre. Anyone expecting huge sales from a genre like this needs to get a slap in the face. Now. (Unless the game has Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest in it's name.)

no my freind you dont get it

these are hard times for rpg fans , and putting these rpgs on one side of the market aint going to help the sales .

JRPG fans should buy the 360!

As a JRPG fan: I never cared for the Tales series.  I never cared for the Star Ocean series.  I love Atlus, but everything they released for the 360 was garbage.  JRPGwise on the 360; Lost Odyssee, Blue Dragon, & Infinite Undiscovery were all worth my time and money.  Everything else goes to the Wii (like Fire Emblem and FFCC) and specifically the PS3 (Valkryia Chronicles being the best of them all along with the PS3 exclusives like Disgaea & White Knight and improved PS3 versions of Enchanted Arms and Eternal Sonata).  But this console gen of JRPG's = fail.  Currently handheld consoles for JRPG's is where it's at.  And at least there are PLENTY of PS2 JRPG's to still choose from if nothing else.

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

I agree with you hatmoza, you're definitly right.

And believe me, SE will get back to sony land soon, very soon, very very soon ... very very very soon ... maybe sooner!

SE is already with Sony. This is why they're creating Versus exclusively despite the possibility of huge sales as a multiplatform. They know they need more money elsewhere.

But you are missing the fun part about a yearly Final Fantasy.....it would be a rehash just like madden.  Same engine a little touch up and a little optimization and BAMB! Viva La Final Fantasy 2010 all consoles and pc.

Has SE made a ps3 game yet?

  Unleash The Beast!

End of 2011 Sales: Wii = 90mil, 360 = 61mil, PS3= 60mil

M$ money is quite powerful
