Killzone had low funbase so, that is why it is unable to compete with GeoW 2 sales. Also MS is always got very aggressive marketing.

Killzone was released in UK 27th Feb one day before the week ended (others 25th Feb - I think).

The sales chart is dated 28th Feb.

How on earth does that qualify as a full week?

To deliberately ignore that fact just to be able gloat over the "poor" sales of K2 and compare it Gears2 is rubbish.

BTW Did Gears2 get a full week on release when it's 1st week sales were posted?

Also as Kantor stated many don't seem to know the diff between sold and shipped.

The "truth" about K2 1st week sales will be a lot clearer when the sales chart week ending 6th March is up.

Japan not sure if the game was even released there. FPS games do not sell in Japan very well and I believe FPS shooters are wasted on the Japanese. Gears of War 2 was not even released in Japan. Gears of War selling only 20k in Japan killed off the idea of launching Gears of War 2 in Japan. Why launch a game that does not even break 100k sales in a region? I see no point.

Shooters rarely sell 25% of LT sales in the first week. It's generally around 1/6, though it changes proportionately with first week sales, ie CoD4 on PS3's LT sales will be over 10 times its first week, while Halo 3 should finish at around 3 times its first week.

I see it doing well over 4 million, around CoD4 numbers. Excellent shooters have great legs: Gears of War, Call of Duty, Halo, I suppose, because it's still sold 6 million since launch week...

valid point about it only being 2 days worth of sales figures. most people i know work fridays and saturdays, but even then, 1st week i dont expect anymore than 500k tops.

as for pre orders, i never trust those numbers since i know a lot of people pre order in 2 / 3 shops just incase or to see who gives the best trade in value for X game. i pre ordered my copy at game, but ended up purchasing it at gamestation.
im more curious about how the ranking page shows over 3million individuals considering it is 1 i.d. per psn account. even if you said 50% of kz2 owners play using 2 accounts, that would still make 1.5mil sold.
