Come on darth.

Stop blaming fans of other consoles for the failings of the PS3 hype machine.

The game sold well, but it didn't come close to the sales implied by the hype.  Last week when I claimed Killzone 2 was the most hyped game of the generation people shot me down by mentioning Halo 3.

But to my recollection, not ONE person mentioned a PS3 exclusive.

This was the most hyped PS3 exclusive ever and it simply didn't sell to that standard in it's first week.  It may have extraordinary legs, we'll have to see.

But if EVERYTIME a PS3 exclusive is released you have to reassure people that you and other Sony fans were expecting sales far less than actual sales perhaps there is a problem with your representation of games pre-launch rather than our cynicism?

Well it is KILLZONE 2 the most hyped (exclusive) game of this generation. The sales are ok but compared to his Concurrent BIG fps games sales it is kind of weak.

 

I'm fairly sure Halo 3 was *ahem* SLIGHTLY more hyped than KZ2. Ya think?

 

Anyway - bignumbers for KZ2 and for a change - a carryover into hardware seems like it may happen. Most games we think will give the consoles a boost have done little as far as that goes.

Well played, Sony. Though a boost to barely eking out a win in Others - the strongest territory for Sony - is still troubling in its own way. Wonder what the Americas numbers will be.

Guys.

It topped the charts in Europe.

It is a sequel to what was considered a very mediocre game. Yet it still managed to sell very well.

Seriously, give it a rest.

 

My god, with the amount of Halo Wars advertising you see everywhere and add to that Halo Wars came bundled for free along with Halo 3, do you see us ranking on it?

Shows who is being the mature ones here does it not?

funny how a game sells more than the previous title is a failure on the ps3 but on the 360 selling less is phenominal(SO4)

Seriously, most hyped exclusive this gen, what? I've never even seen a commercial for it. If I wasn't online so much, I probably wouldn't even know about it (not a FPS fan).

KZ isn't a game coming off a hugely successful franchise like Halo, MGS, Gears, or CoD. The fact that it'll likely do 1 million first week WW is phenomenal.

And before anyone accuses me of being a Sony nut, I don't even have a PS3, nor do I intend on buying one in the near future (I might for Tekken 6, but the jury is still out on that one).

You forget a slightly hyped game called erm... Halo3? Even MGS4 was more hyped then KZ2
