Forums - Gaming - Gamepro -- Killzone 2 VS Halo 3 (Is KZ2 a Halo Killer?) YES IT IS!!

Th FPS of 2009 is going to be ODST...period...everything else is going to play second fiddle...at best.

I disagree with most of it. Even so Halo 3 was released in 07, Killzone 2 in 09 so............in theory you shouldn't compare the two as equals in the first place.

How can two things kill one another if they arent even on the same continent. If halo 3 was a ps3 game then of course one could kill the other

Multiplayer should have gone to Halo 3, along with Extras. Halo 3 is practically a multiplayer game with single player modes added in as a bonus. Everything in halo 3 you can do multiplayer. From Forge, to Campaign, to well. Multiplayer slayer matches.

Halo 3 is the only online game where not only has the community loved the online multiplayer experience, but has evolved it. Halo 3 never had Grifball or Rocket race in the beginning. Those were invented, some say bungie did it. Others say the community did it, I don't really know. I just know that it's there now, when a year and a half ago. It was not.

Extras, Features, and Replayability? That isn't even a contest. It obviously needs to go to halo 3. As stated before, with the skulls, forge, 4 player multiplayer campaign and everything else added in? People still continue to play that game daily. Not in the thousands, but hundreds of thousands of people.

Is Killzone 2 a Halo Killer? No, it's not. But its the closest we've come so far.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

and things like this make people be disappointed at kz2 sales.

I don't know which is better, i haven't played Kz2, but halo 3 multiplayer is great

Um, for those who say Halo is better, have you played Killzone 2? I have both, and Killzone 2, once you get the controls to your liking, is a better game. And for the love of baby seals, stop using sales or metacritic to compare them. It makes you look very, very desperate. If you never played both, your opinion does not matter. Its biased. Plain and simple.

Soo...instead of USING $$$ or critical accliam, instead we should use fanboy metrics?  Seems to me, the BEST indicator of success is longivity...Coutner Strike is legendary...heck...it is as gold standard as you can get...and on console...Halo 3 is THE GOLD STANDARD...1 freaking billion matches...just think about it.  It's not like 360 owners are ONLY playing Halo 3...we play a crap load of games...and we buy a TON more of software, so even with all those OTHER games out there, people still play Halo to death...wow...when a game can do that...and you want to compare it to some game that was as hyped as ever...and it pushed less than a million?  Sorry, but using personal opinions as a metric is just plain wrong...it's like people who say linux is better...well than why aren't people using it more?  In sports, it's settled on the field, but somehow in gaming, people want to settle it on opinions...rather than performance.

@ Heruamon

I wouldn't try to sit and debate here. Let folks have their opinion. KZ2 is a much better game than KZ1 - it's a slick ride and awesome. Let the bots have their moment.

However, 3 months from now, let's revisit this thread and see how well the KZ2 momentum is going. I am not a prophet (my old man is) but I am sure it won't come close to the number of H3 sales.

LOL...you're right...it is just crazy how strong hype can be.  Anyway, sorry to anybody who took offense by my comments, it's all good...I hope ps3 owners enjoy the heck out of KZ2, and are still rocking it in 6 months.  Is KZ2 the halo killer...time will tell, and I'll wait for Halo's response aka ODST.

good accurate review i agreee with all of it except the multiplayer part. Halo doninates KZ2 in terms of the seamlessness of Matchmaking. No other company in the world can best bungies net code and it shows. Plus Halo is all action and none of the fluff while killzone may have more perks and the like halo will probably be the game left standing in 5 years.

but yeah overall id give it to KZ2

Long Live SHIO!
