Don't just games single player against Halo:CE... especially not the Silent Cartographer. It's just not fair. Give them a chance.
I don't think we'll see another FPS single player that will be as striking as playing Halo:CE back in the day. It was a bold leap into the future of gaming... and was an amazing and engrossing story and experience to boot. I feel like even if a game was the most advanced new FPS out there (KZ2) and had an amazing story... it still wouldn't be able to hit the high that Halo:CE did back then. |
I think your glasses may have become tinted pink by nostalgia. Was Halo:CE your first fps? Because to a seasoned PC player at the time the SP campaign was as unremarkable as the gameplay. Repetitive environments, a few nice set-up pieces connected by trailing canyons or corridors, alot of backtracking, lackluster overall story arc.
And the library level still gives me nightmares... that was fun for what, 2 minutes?
