Okay. I am going to say it, even though I know it'll start some serious warring.

KH1 annoyed me, although it had its moments. KH2 was good.

None of the games I mentioned are anything like KH, I imagine.

Are DDS and Nocturne significantly different from Persona 3/4? I haven't actually tried P4, but P3 was not my thing.

DDS and Nocturne have absolultely none of the dating sim-like stuff you mention disliking in Persona 3. I personally like the Persona series more, but those games are still good in their own right.

DDS had a great story but the gameplay was not the best.There are a crap load of random encounters and the combat system was kinda boring.Transforming into a demon was cool as hell though.

You didn't like Xenosaga?....

Damn I love that series... well Xenosaga I and III, II had a awfull battle system.

I replay those once in a while, finished first one 3 weeks ago.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing (mostly)

The only thing I really disliked about Xenosaga was the plot -- the characters were good, the fighting system was decent I guess... Plot is big for me, though -- more important than characters, etc. I like JRPGs, but I have a significant lean over to the WRPG style of storytelling, and western thinking when it comes to plotlines. I can't help it.. my inner RPG child was raised on Wizardry, Ultima, The Bard's Tale, D&D Gold Box, etc.

This is embarrassing to admit, as a huge RPG fan... but I didn't know what Final Fantasy even was until VII came out. Even then I waited for the PC version (FF7 was my first JRPG). I played exclusively PC RPGs until the late-90s -- I played them all, it seems, but I avoided console RPGs like the plague, until FF7 hit.

Now I've gone back and played huge numbers of 16-bit through PS2-era console RPGs, and I found that I was really missin out.
