It's funny how the hype machine works. There was a minority of people saying that this game was going to be the best thing ever. There was also a minority of people saying it would suck. But then you have a bunch of people just talking, speculating, debating screenshots, whatever. All of this feeds the hype machine. So now people want to say that the game didn't live up to the hype. The hype that WE ALL created by posting in forums all over the net. It's just funny.
Enjoy the game for what it is, a great game w/ awesome production values - far from perfect though. I bought the game over the weekend bcuz I was curious. Played it for awhile, put back in SFIV, and haven't played it since. But I'm not dissappointed bcuz I never bought the hype in the first place. Or maybe I did, I bought the game :) I'll finish it one day.
I buy consoles for their games... not the other way around.
No the problem is not with the aiming but the person who is aiming. Face it! there is no auto aim like the noob shooter CoD4. The people complaining because when they camped in a corner on KZ2 the crosshair didn't move for them so they actually had to aim at the person without the help of auto aim to kill them.I would blame the controls too if I sucked at the game, but I don't. Your just not that good at the game. You walked in multiplayer thinking Its just like CoD4 with pretty graphics and BAM! reality hit and you came to a video game forum to bitch about it. Its ok you can't be good at everything.

i think at the end, sony 1st party seems always have repetitive pattern
hype to the roof, bad marketing, wait 1 week, and we will see more and more people complaining.

Get your facts straight. Fanboys did 90% of the hyping not SCE.
"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)
"WAR is a racket. It always has been.
It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler
I think KZ2 is hovering about where it deserves to be on Metacritic...
Was it over-hyped? I think so... Was Halo 3 over-hyped? I think so... Was GTA IV over-hyped? I think so...

By the way, in response to this, stop telling people they have to play the original Killzone to play it. As it is now, the original Killzone requires people buy or own a PS2 to play it. Do you want someone to buy a PS2 and get Killzone, just so they can understand what is up about Killzone 2? |
No....But it's commonly known that if you haven't played predecessors of games how in the world would you know what is going on in the sequel? If I just jumped into Halo 3 would I know all about Halo? Ofcourse I wouldn't. Likewise with Resistance 2.
If you haven't played the first game you have no grounds to talk about how the game has no story or you don't understand the story.

yes, and quite a good one. did you play it? very odd question to me.
The thing I hate about threads like this is that every single game, and in fact every piece of entertainment in the world, can be called overrated or underrated. It just depends on your expectations.

CoD4 has a story, just not a particularly interesting or well thought out one. Your usual Russians and terrorists, except this time they are allied, which adds a whole new pointless twist.
Pretty much the entire single player campaign in CoD4 was a mess. There were a few great moments, like playing as Captain Price, and Death From Above, but most of it was generic crap. The online made it one of the best FPS games (I would say second to Killzone 2) this gen.
Compared to CoD4, any shooter's story is good. With the possible exceptions of Battlefield Bad Company, UT3 and Resistance 2.
But Killzone 2's story was genuinely good. There were no history lessons, but there was always a reason for what you were doing. And the backstory, if you've read it, is great.
