In your opinion who are the top 3 video game characters ever and state your reasons why. Mine are as follows.
3) Mario
- Who doesn't know Mario right? He alone literally grabbed the attention of one entire generation of people and brought them into the world of gaming. He is the most successful video game character to have ever been created and consistently delivers on all of his games. His personality and world wide appeal deservedly places him in the number 3 spot.
2) Carl Johnson
- Perhaps one of the most controversial characters to have ever be spawned in the history of gaming. Whilst not the most liked video game character he is certainly one of the most known and talked about. Throughout San Andreas we see Carl live through the struggles of ghetto life and how torment and aggravation from fellow hood rats cause him to lead of a life of violent crime all in the name of getting out of the hood game. Despite being a fairly generic character, i personally think he is extremely funny and ultimately he pushed the boundaries of gaming like no other game before it did, for the better or the worse.
1) Solid Snake
- By a long shot in my opinion, he is the best video game character to have ever lived and will ever live. He is not the strongest, nor the fastest or the smartest or even the toughest. But it is precisely because of his inability to become the best at anything that many gamers alike see a much more human side to Snake than perhaps any other video game character before. In the Solid saga, we see Snake come under constant torment by the threat of nuclear war and he is called upon every time to stop it and yet he always answers the call. Through the series gamers see him become old and weak but yet his unprecedented determination and against the odds characteristics always see him through, and it is precisely because of this, he is the best video game character ever, as he more substance than any other character i have ever seen.
