Kantor said: Burnout Revenge makes Paradise look like complete shit, to be frank. I could not get into it at all. Open world really does not work. It was nothing beyond "drive here, do this race, now do this race, now this race, now this SPECIAL event, now these seventeen billion races"
I hope Burnout 6 is a return to the series' roots. I would get it, then. |
At bolded: How exactly is that different than the other five previous Burnout games? I'm pretty sure in those games I also did this race and then that race, then this special event and then seventeen billion races.

The difference is in Paradise you drive to the start, then that annoying voice tells you to drive to the other side of the map. After you've finished the race (victorious or not) you need to search the next race, which leads you most of the time once again across the whole map.
I prefer to select a race from a menu and even better, when they give me more variety (tracks in different cities, Circuit races etc.)
A really big part of the action and the fun is gone because of the open world setting. It's boring when you're in first place and take a different route than the AI. You can't takedown anyone, you always need to look at the map and the boost duration decreases very fast.
