returning to the main topic of the thread, lol

i think that transexuals and homosexuals deserve the same rights as hetrosexuals

Well you are entitled to your opinion.  I just think it was wrong that the actual women got shafted for the queen to be a man.  That is wrong in and of itself.

How were they shafted? They had the same chances to win as the drag queen and they lost.  He won the vote and they didn't, simple as that.

To play devils advocate

What's your opinion on Drag Queens being aloud to compete in the WNBA and WPGA.

oooo....an interesting debate.  I would contend that a drag queen has an inherent advantage that makes their inclusion into a female sporting event unfair, but that there is no such advantage for a drag queen in a Homecoming Queen contest.

I'm not sure, but it would make a great screenplay!

That's actually why i threw in the WNBA that movie.

As for the WPGA i believe a transexual petitioned to be allowed in the WPGA circuit.

What is that inherent advantage?

For example... what if said Drag Queen is 4 foot 9?  Yet worked hard and is good enough to make it into the WNBA?

Setting up a exlusions only to keep out those who are deemed superior for ruining things for those who are deemed  inferior is a poor way to run something... and insulting.

Do some of the WNBAs greatest basketball players really have an inherent disadvantage vs a 4'9 drag queen?

Then they should set up a basketball association for short people. WNBA players do have an inherent physical disadvantage to males in general as far as playing basketball goes and as such males are not allowed, shortness is a seperate physical disadvantage in basketball.

The assumption is that males have an inherent advantage in physical contests. This is the reason that the two are normally separated for such contests as the Olympics. Which is why the running assumption would be that a male going into the WNBA would be unfair to the people already in it.

If you instead think that men and women are equal in these contests then the division of the two is done solely for Semantics, and I would then be ok with any person of any gender joining any contest, be it the WNBA, a women in the men's 50 yard sprint, or a drag queen going for homecoming queen.

But my argument is that the division in a homecoming queen contest is only done because that's how it has always been, and divisions like the WNBA have more than semantics behind the decision.

And after that we should set up a basketball assosiation for uncoordinated people?

Having any sort of discrimination based on such issues is a bad idea.

How about... a scholarship program created to be awarded to women?   Decided via essay about what it is like to be a woman in todays world.

Should a man be able to apply?  He does definitly have a disadvantage when it comes to the subject matter... and more college students and graduates are women.

A "disadvantage" standard is unfair and untennable in my mind.

I think you need to either take away all barriers that judge people soley on their sex or continue being sexist.

The average woman is born weaker then the average man.  This only matters when you judge people as two groups.  Man and Woman.

If Man was ALWAYS stronger the Woman.  Then you would have a point.  However this is not the case.

If he wants to run for something that is predominantly thought of as being a title reserved for females I see no problem with it, after that it's just the decision of the people voting on whether or not they feel he's write for the "job".

Can you give me a logical reason that him being allowed to run for Queen is detrimental?

Queen should be for females only.  None of this cross dress, gender change, or acting biz.  I can see that I am outnumbered here but that is alright.  I will stick to my gut and keep my opinions unwavered.

Even though I agree with you (I usually do), I think that if this drag queen got voted for the position, he should get to keep it.

Does the homecoming queen have do dance with the king?

Anyway, I know a very strict Mormon kid who goes there; he probably shit his pants when the results came out.
