I also forgot to address your EXTREMELY wrong view of how log games retian their values. Starcraft STILL sells and you can STILL see it in the cheap bins. The legs of PC games are far far longer than any console game. COD4 is still a child compared to how well some PC games are still selling.

Also, when you compare a game you compare it to all games in its genre, and in this case Halo Wars falls flat on its face. Kudos on at least being playable.

So now you are comparing a PC game with an install base of ????? to a console with an install base of nearly 30 million. It doesn't take a genius to figure out where this is going.

Thanks for proving phail is still alive and kicking.

I didn't think the game would do so well. I'm actually surprised! If it grabs great sales, perhaps we'll see developers bring over more RTS goodness that actually works.

Even though I'm not into Halo, I really want to see for myself how the controls handle.

If you have a 360, download the demo. Read this thread - http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=59463 and a vast majority of posters enjoyed the game. It's not for everyone but still, most liked it.

The only real negative comments are coming from folks who haven't played the demo, who want the game to fail, or folks who are diehard PC types and wouldn't get it a fighting chance to start off with.

I think you are the one with the epic fails in this thread.

Why so much shock? Halo was an alright FPS, what made it stand out was that it was made specifically for consoles. Now making an RTS and just slapping the 'Halo' name on it, doesn't mean it's gonna be good. I saw this coming a mile away.

It's tough to make an RTS for the console, it's never been done well before. So, is this an ok mark for a console RTS? Or is Gamespot just wrong? From everything else I've heard about Halo Warz, it aint all that bad.

Other people have posted above what I was just thinking, we can't trust reviewers anymore and it'll still sell well anyway.

... it'll still sell well ..... that's alot of L's

Yes yes bring is your metacritic scores..
No1 would say anything if there wasn't Halo name on it.
And Metacritic has it at around 80,which is good...
Supreme commander,Command and conquers, they just won't work on consoles.
Come on try the demo..

Don't go bursting bubbles like that, it's rude! :(

To me good is the original Starcraft and Warcraft games and I don't think a score of 83 is something to be hyped about though.

The PC version of Mass Effect, for instance, hit the $20 mark about the same time the 360 version did. Which was out longer? That's not the only game like that. The PC is awesome, but it's so much I can do on a PC. Usually, when I am on my console, I am gaming.

Regardless, proof is in the pudding and PC games get cheaper a lot faster than console games.

Most of the reviews for the game are around 80. Therefore, Gamespot's 65 is just as far away from the average review as the 95 from Vandal Online. Somehow, I doubt you'll complain about their 95 though. Personally, I feel the same way as the person who reviewed the game for Gamespot, although I think it's more of a 7.5. Still, it's overly simplistic and because of this I found it boring and couldn't even finish the demo. Furthermore, while it has good controls for a console RTS it still can't touch a PC RTS and why should we be rewarding that? Sure its ok for console but loses out to almost every RTS on console. Personally, I think this game is for fans of the Halo universe and maybe someone who hasn't played an RTS on PC and wants to try out the genre on consoles. Most other people I don't see thinking it's too great.
