It was my favorite by far short and sweet and every episode was a keep I even love the soundtrack we need more animes that reinvent classic styles.

Completely unimportant. You don't know what you want. Your best option is to allow someone who has actually watched these shows lead you to what is best. Action means nothing. Most of the shittiest animes have great action in them. You should just do what my first post says. Start with Elfen Lied, just so you can gain some faith in my words.

Also, add Hellsing to my list.

Well Kurokami is looking quite good so far, and there's been a decent amount of fighting in that.

Blade of the Immortal is great if you want some sword action.

Armored Trooper - Pailsen Files is also quite cool, and is finished as well.

Soriku stop watching anime and read manga :p anyway Shaman king is awesome you should watch it.

If you haven't watched Haruhi you should do that first. It's a sin as an anime fan to have never watched that. While I'm still thinking about animes that are a crime to miss, you should check out Baccano!, it also has a lot of action.

You absolutely need to watch hajime no ippo , the J man didnt like animes that much but after a friend showed him 3 episodes he was hooked.

Really great characters and youll want to sign up to your nearest boxing gym because this show is that good.

Though Hajime no Ippo is a good anime, its a great Manga. Youll do yourself a favor by reading it first.
I second the suggestions for Berserk,FMP. And i insist on Samurai X:Trust and Betrayal which most definitely is the best anime ever made( and this is not an OMFG Best evaaaar statement, it really is a masterpiece)
