Forums - Nintendo - EA conference call - core titles coming to Wii, big support coming to Wii

Well, if i don' see it and don't believe in it. But i hope EA is serious this time. I hope they bring good games to the wii... which apparently is what companies are doing lately. Now that is a safe bet, way more good games will be coming to the wii.

I do hope the Godfather 2 comes to wii. The first one is amazing. I still play it from time to time... and i have finished the game 3 times already. Is just simply fun

Burnout has both casual and hardcore appeal. It just needs to look good and have both splitscreen and online multiplayer.

It would be a perfect match for the Wii and sell millions.

The Wii can have everything from EA just leave Burnout alone .... :(

i want burnout on wii man, i am awaiting the burnout paradise port for PC to get my burnout fix.

The crash physics and the detail of the crashes would be so crappy on the Wii......crashing is like 75% of the fun in Burnout

i know someone already replied to you but since you quoted me, i will quote you too lol.

i enjoyed burnout revenge on PS2, the crashes were fun, and if the wii version ( that is if they announce it) is atleast twice as good at crash physics as burnout revenge then i will be happy with it.

I'd also like to add that crashing on Burnout Paradise was very annoying after a while because you ALWAYS had to watch the entire thing. I think twesterm liked to call it being forced to watch a physics demo every time you made a mistake. It's a lot of fun for the first hour, then you wish you could just turn it off for rest of the damn game.

If the Wii version can't force you watch physics demos after every mistake, I'm say all for the better. =P

I read this on Joystiq, and for Dead Space, the EA guy said:

"A good example of this is Dead Space. We're bringing a Wii title to the market this year and it is absolutely going to be the quality and fear factor that you got on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC SKUs this past year"

...yeah..just like Dead Rising Wii will have the same amount...or at least a large amount of zombies on screen, and a camera mode....oh wait....

Now this is going to get Wii fans all wriled up "We told you 3rd parties would finally start moving over!" etc.....I'll just sit back and wait until they talk up crappy port #85 and call it proper 3rd party support as a talking point

Yeah, it won't be the same game but at least they get it, I guess.

Ports are better than nothing, for sure, but it's not the support people have been saying would happen.

Exactly, but I guarantee it will be used as a talking point when the inevitable "Wii has bad 3rd party support" threads show up again. I can see it now:

Guy 1: Wii doesn't get good 3rd party games

Guy 2: What're you talking about? We got Dead Rising and Dead Space ports

Guy 1: Those were horrendous ports

Guy 2: So, it's still 3rd party support, so your argument fails

I got into that once when financial reports came out at one time saying 3rd parties made the most off the Wii...but it was off games like Party Babiez and Carnival Games. I said something like "3rd parties are still doing bad on the Wii" and someone replied "It doesn't matter WHICH 3rd party games are selling, it's still a fact that 3rd parties sell more on the Wii" I know these are all technicalities, but as a gamer, they're technicalities you should pay attention to.

Yes, those horrendous ports. One that isn't out yet and one that's just been announced (and isn't even known to be a port). So quick to judge....

Don't act retarded. Every article pertaining to Dead Rising Wii says something along the lines of "Where are the zombies?" because there just aren't that many on screen. It may not be out yet, but don't act like you haven't seen the videos or seen the previews. If you honestly haven't, I'm telling you now to not get your hopes up for gameplay similar to the original.

Dead Space will probably be the same. Whether it be dumber AI, bad lighting (lighting is a big factor in the setting of the game) or less enemies on the screen, it's going to be a watered down version of the game..unless you expect it to have the same specs as the HD versions, barring the graphics. But then I'd call you delusional.

Yeah, because Capcom said something like that.

The point is they're going to be putting a lot of effort into this.

I would only consider it "effort" if they started off by putting new IPs on the Wii. But what we all know is going to happen with Dead Space Wii is going to be an extremely watered down version, less enemies on screen, horrible lighting effects (comparatively) meaning the setting is gonna be so screwed up from the original, etc. I would've liked it better if it was Dead Rising Wii, first, then they could've put all focus into it and made it into an experience in which expectations were met....but since its already been done on PC/PS3/360, we know what the game is SUPPOSED to be like and the Wii version will just look shoddy in comparison

No.

The crash physics and the detail of the crashes would be so crappy on the Wii......crashing is like 75% of the fun in Burnout

That's funny, I remember having fun with the crashes on the PS2, unless I imagined it and crash physics were invented with the arrival of AYCH DEE!!!

Yeah...because when the PS2 was out, it was under current tech. That what crash physics in a video game were at the time. If you want to pull that number, hell, I remember having fun with moon physics on Tony Hawk on PS1. Therefore, it's best that the PS1 get a port of the new Tony Hawk, because I want the experience to be the same as old times even though I could have it better?

Burnout Wii is going to be like the comparison of GRiD between the PS3 and 360 (you know, the fake one) where they showed the "360" as having super crash physics and the PS3 have crappy ones. Burnout Wii will be the PS3 more than likely

I have seen the videos of Dead Rising, but unlike some people I wait until the game's out and I've played it before I form an opinion. Otherwise I'd be talking out of my ass. ;)

With Dead Space, it hasn't even been announced whether it's a port or a new game entirely. If it is a port, there's no way of knowing how it will transfer to the Wii until it's *surprise* finished. You're just making negative speculations to try to bring the announcement down.

I don't think many people give games a fair chance before they form opinions about them ... Soon after a game is announced, long before any real information is released, they have decided to hype or bash a game and no ammount of reasoning will get them to look at it from another angle.

I don't think companies like EA or Capcom would start a project for any platform without expecting to produce a good (or better) game. Now, this doesn't mean that they don't produce bad games but it is typically that unforeseen problems arise and further development can not be justified. I could be wrong but I suspect that these companies were fully aware of how much processing power the Wii had before they started on projects like Dead Space and Dead Rising, and they probably had a plan to make a decent game within the limitations.

Obviously, these games will not be the same games that you played on the XBox 360 but that doesn't mean that they couldn't be good games ...

(Note: I'm not saying these games are good but dismissing them with limited information because one of the games doesn't have as many zombies on screen as an XBox 360 game is not particularly fair. )

You do know the Wii does physics really well, don't you?  Hell, EA created a franchise centered around the Wii's physics capabiltiies.

I don't think the physics are a problem for Burnout on Wii.

Polygon count and the amount of detailed damage generated by a crash may be reduced but the physics themselves will be fine.
