The game has successfully shifted its audience. The survival horror fans have been left wondering what is going on while the shooter fans won't be able to put this game down.

I am a big survival horror fan so i am somewhat let down by the demo. However I have run in to quite a few people that are going nuts over this game. These people like games like GTA4, Gears 2, MAdden, NBA Live, Army of 2...etc...

Mark my words...this game will do huge numbers in NA on the xbox 360.

Do you think it's that different from RE4? In what way?

I really don't see much difference.

That's actually not real co-op what you did. Co-op is either via splitscreen, system link or online. Definitely not single player, even if you have an A.I. partner.

Oh and the game is hard !!!

Coop is a huge difference. Isolation in RE4 made it still somewhat scary. Also, this is rediculously more fast paced. RE4 had parts where you had to hussle but mostly you'd find a safe spot, like a house or a wall where you woud take them down, 1 by 1. You can't do that in RE5...atleast not the demo as you get swarmed on all sides.

I still think this is AAA ...just not really what I was hoping for. I don't see this game having a single puzzle btw...

Very astute observation, disolitude. But I think this is the right decision for Capcom - they probably added more sales in the millions because of this action-oriented direction and being on dual HD consoles, its going to do the franchise ALOT more justice than what the Gamecube did initially.

That's only true in the first level, the second level is slower paced and you don't get swarmed by enemies. In fact this is why I think they included two levels, to show people that there's some diversity in the game.

The co-op is the biggest difference, that we can agree on.

Still felt like a coop shooter though. Like the part where you have to cover the chick with a sniper...

Old school resident evil would do a puzzle of opening the door while she fights the zombies. RE4 would do that part by having her tied up and all these zombies are coming towards her and you have to pick them off before they reach her...

Those moments have tension.

In RE5 it almost doesn't make any difference what you do...she is a big girl and will take care of them if you help her or not. No tension...just a feeling of "I better start firing or I may miss the fun"

Oh I didn't pass that part that way. I went downstairs, she opened the door and then we killed off the enemies together.

I'm not saying you're wrong in that sense, just that we can't judge the whole game based on two short sections. Let's wait and see whether there are puzzles and the like.

@NJ5

Agreed. Im still getting it for sure... I hope it has the best of both worlds.

I also hope those scenes in trailers where Wesker is in a matrix like trench coat and is doing kung fu are an april fools joke :)

@Benga

Really?...LT + LB for knife attacks?...that´s really retarded, but I can only imagine the final game will let you change that, eh...

But HEY...you mean that, unlike RE4, you CAN´T CUT CRATES AND BOXES???...HEY, that´s even more retarded.

Well, apparently you can cut boxes, but I swear I couldn't pull it of. There are 4 control schemes, but the 360 controller is perfect for shooting with the triggers. I don't think the controls will be fully customizable.

This is exactly how I feel. RE0 had good co-op and at least you could leave someone behind, but here it's more a case of having an extra gun on your side. I didn't feel it adds anything. The sniper part is really just a joke.

Well, shooterfans are going to hate the restriction though. Not being able to move + shoot will turn of the real Gears fan I'm sure. Lack of ammo will also be a nuisance to those, while I'm glad that's there. I don't think it will sell more than RE4 or 2 in total.
