That's only true in the first level, the second level is slower paced and you don't get swarmed by enemies. In fact this is why I think they included two levels, to show people that there's some diversity in the game. The co-op is the biggest difference, that we can agree on.

Still felt like a coop shooter though. Like the part where you have to cover the chick with a sniper...
Old school resident evil would do a puzzle of opening the door while she fights the zombies. RE4 would do that part by having her tied up and all these zombies are coming towards her and you have to pick them off before they reach her...
Those moments have tension.
In RE5 it almost doesn't make any difference what you do...she is a big girl and will take care of them if you help her or not. No tension...just a feeling of "I better start firing or I may miss the fun"
