^ there's nothing wrong with consulting your better half when spending money. there might be something wrong if she doesn't let you do anything you want to do (within reason... such as her stopping you from buying a ferrari when you can't afford one). i somehow convinced my wife to buy me all three systems!

anyway, i think it's wise you're keeping the ps3.

QFT, You should always consider your SO when spending your money. Playing the whole "my" money "your" money thing just causes mariage problems.

The way I have it set up, is we each get $50/month to spend on yourself (I typically don't spend it) but anything after those $50 has to be aproved by the other. This way we keep our spending in check, but still get to save up for things we want. So I have the option of buying 1 new game/month, or I could save it and buy myself new motorcycle boots.

So far in the last 6 months, I only went over the $50 twice. Once for the PS3 (i was working overtime at the time, and ended up considering it a Christmas gift) and the other for a 7.2 surround sound system, which we both enjoy.

Maybe you could do something like that. That way you don't have to ask for permission to buy games, if you have the $ saved up.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

thanks everyone of the comments most have been very positive, yes i will keep it, what have to do is put one my pants and tell my wife am buying another console in the case it does end up without third party support, heck ill even ask her to let me buy killzone 2.

wish me luck on the killzone 2 part i want that game dammit.

you should leave her if she is so against gamming i think that's ur real promblem "let me buy KZ2"

Did you really just write that?!

i quess that's why im single i don't need people telling me wat to do with my money if i want to try out the new lean&peak cover system in KZ2 im giong to buy it with out the need of permission from anyone

Wow, can I quote you on that? =P

Only if u post in my threads that R in my sig

If you do it, do it for games you want now, not for games you think you will want.

Also, do it for a Wii, and not for a 360. The PS3 will likely have comparable as many exclusives as the 360, but the wii will get the most. With BluRay and other features of the PS3, it's not worth the change to sell and get a 360.

I would hold off until you can convince your wife that you need two consoles. A PS3 + Wii is the way to go... and just keep what you have for now unless you are not satisfied with it, and are certain you will be happy with a Wii.

I've had the N64 and the GC. The PS3 has WAY more 3rd party support, and even if it drops off, it will still be better than N64 support. If the PS3 has the types of games you like, then no reason to sell it.

EDIT: there was a total of 387 games (or really close to that) for the N64. The PS3 has surpassed that number already and will continue to grow a good library.

 Great post Nord.

You should sell your PS3 (not at GameStop!) because there will really be no more huge third-party PS3 exclusives.. Anything you want would likely also be on the XBox 360.

name one

Resident Evil 5

So much reasonable people on this topic, except for you @Dodece,what a way to show your inner fanboyism.
You need two things to enjoy your already most desired game:

1.-Wife's permission (good luck)

2.-A "PS3" (This answer your question?)

Keep your black machine or you will miss it.

@ SHMUP

I am quite bewildered as well.

But RE5 is playbable on PS3, a system in which the TC already has. Point is that he already has the system to play those 3rd party multiplats and to boot it gets some great exclusives.  Seems like a waste to sell the system to get another one that will do the same thing.
