^ there's nothing wrong with consulting your better half when spending money. there might be something wrong if she doesn't let you do anything you want to do (within reason... such as her stopping you from buying a ferrari when you can't afford one). i somehow convinced my wife to buy me all three systems!

anyway, i think it's wise you're keeping the ps3.

QFT, You should always consider your SO when spending your money. Playing the whole "my" money "your" money thing just causes mariage problems.

The way I have it set up, is we each get $50/month to spend on yourself (I typically don't spend it) but anything after those $50 has to be aproved by the other. This way we keep our spending in check, but still get to save up for things we want. So I have the option of buying 1 new game/month, or I could save it and buy myself new motorcycle boots.

So far in the last 6 months, I only went over the $50 twice. Once for the PS3 (i was working overtime at the time, and ended up considering it a Christmas gift) and the other for a 7.2 surround sound system, which we both enjoy.

Maybe you could do something like that. That way you don't have to ask for permission to buy games, if you have the $ saved up.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
