LBP sold 305K in UK alone....320K in NA (Nov + Oct).....& 80K in Japan (by begining of dec) -- these numbers are from GFK, NPD & famitsu respectively

so acc. to those numbers LBP sales = 700k +

WITHOUt including....Mainland EU sales, WITHOUT including NA December sales & without including Japan December sales

Do the math....it seems unlikely LBP is at ONLY 1.3 milllion right now

^doesnt this reveal the truth? i think that he said playing because he was talking about the PSN at the moment right?

Actually these numbers are a little off. 215 for october and 141 for November for a grand total of 356 for USA alone(NPD). Add 10-14% for Canada and Mexico (usually 14% for the wii and 10% for xbox) and you get around 400k for NA alone... before dcember at minimum. Plus the 100-200k UK sales LBP recieved in november in UK alone(GFK) which is usually 25% of others for ps3 titles since ps3 performs better in spain and such compared to the 360 which performs better in UK and you get 400k for others. Which puts the game at 800k. add the 80k famitsu numbers you get 880k. This is also assuming that LBP just scrapped by the 100k mark in the first 3 weeks. So again this is the minimum number it was at in the end of November.

It's not just Canada and Mexico... it's all of americas.

Hence why the Wii tends to be increased by 15%, 360 10%...

and PS3 5%.  Since it's even more expensive in some areas of south america and not even launched in others.

Microsoft announced they "sold" 28M consoles and everyone told us it meant "sold to consumers".

Sony announced they have a "userbase" of 63.1M between PS3 and PSP and we are told it means "Shipped to retailer".

Someone please enlighten me on what "userbase" means now? Only asking because it seems that everyday we get something new. One day we compare WKC sales and people say "The "userbase" is a 3:1 ratio in favor of PS3". In that point in time "userbase" meant "sold". Now we find out it means something else.

Please make up your minds.

"Still, Hirai said it has added 2.1 million accounts in the last couple of months. He’s showing off a PS 3 exclusive game from November, LittleBigPlanet, and is praising its appeal to the mass market. It’s being played online now by 1.3 million people. There are now 300,000 levels available, thanks to user-generated content for this game. That’s pretty impressive."

They seem to claim the same thing as IGN.

LOL good find. and it's funny. Gamespot paraphrased  while IGN and this didnt but yet gamespot is more credible in this situation

Thank you.  An actual second credible source.  Which is what you need for your arguement to substantiate anything beyond a giant wall of every other site out there agreeing with you.

Godot has a point....

DJmesteir... not so much.

Isn't that what djm has been saying though? That 1.3M people are playing LBP online not 1.3M sold to customer.

He does have such contacts through his work with VGChartz.

However, he does occasionally use said contacts as "proof" for false claims.

Ya, I've stopped using the non-internal sources for references...

My info is from one of the PR Managers, its trustworthy as every bit of data I have received from her up till now has been 100% accurate and useful.

 Ok got it

I knew it.... I believe it's overtracked in the America's Region.

So, where's DMJ???

^Did you read the entire thread yet?

I already gave good enough reasons as to why these can not be recent shipped figures.
