disolitude,

Since u seem to love both (upcoming) games, which do u think will be better, FEAR 2 or Project Origin, and how much will they sell on consoles?

I think you mean Killzone 2 and FEAR2 as project origin and fear 2 are the same game :)

I see Killzone 2 outselling FEAR2 on consoles by a hefty margin. FEAR established its fanbase on the PC and while the 360 version did well and was pretty good, it never really caught on as it was over a year late to the console party.

That being said I love horror games. And I am not the biggest fan of army/squad FPS games, which seems like its the main inspiration for Kilzone 2. So I am leaning towards FEAR2...even before I consider the developers previous games. I have yet to play a Monolith game I have not liked. Granted I never played the Matrix MMORPG :)

However, Killzone 2 is a game I definetly want to see...looks like it will be quite a technical achievement.

Killzone 2 for me....

There is finally a AAA FPS coming out without any monsters and supernatural crap..... CS and Battlefield 2&2142 are my favourite FPSs so far and KZ2 seems very much like them...

PSN ID: T_Gears

End of 2009 ltd sales:

Wii = 67-68m

X360 = 38-39m

PS3 = 34-35m

Prediction: The PS3 will surpass the 360 on weekly sales after it drops to $299 on all regular weeks (no big releases).

Wait a second. FEAR 2 comes out Feb 10th and Killzone comes out Feb 24th. They are 2 weeks appart... How are they competing with each other again? Only for people that tend to buy 1 game a month and love FPS games I guess...

 I'm not trying to make it sound like they're competing with each other but I'm really looking forward to both of them and they're going to get released in the same month so I was just wondering, which game are you gonna pick up?

Favorite films. Foreign films forever!

                                                           GG                           Monolith

The only reason GG is slightly above simply Distacting is because Liberation was on a portable system so it was good for trips. I never peopped it open if I was home however which means it wasn't as fun as say..... Link to the Past or Golden Sun (which I played even if I was home and had all the gaming stuff right there).

Anoher thing people forget is that FEAR was an FPS first and foremost. Yeah it had horror elements which were hit or miss (scariest event in any game for me happened in FEAR) but that doesn't mean it had AI which is STILL better than most shooters' AI even 3 years later, making firefights extremely engaging. Also, while it did not look great at a first glance, its firefights were gorgeous (still are pretty damn good) because the effects they put in really brought each one to life. The clouds of smoke or shower of sparks when bullets don't hit the people, the electricity arcs when you shoot a lamp or a fuse box, everything really added to the epic feel of firefights. It was also a really nice change in FPSs where everything was about shooting aliens or soldiers with your gun and moving on, FEAR added that horror element in it as well and definitely helped out the game a lot. I need my Alma fix....

I only play portable games when I go on trips or when i feel like taking a long shit, Golden Sun and a LTTP was good, but I never played them outside of the above criteria, same with Killzone Liberation.

This thread need some serious bets between users.

Anyway I bet that Killzone 2 will have an better metacrit score than FEAR 2!

Some people who want to join the bet?

The loser(s) can't use the letter 's' for a week and have to use the letter 'Z' What ya think?

According to metacritic GTA IV is better than Mario Galaxy, Orange Box, Metroid Prime, and Soul Calibur 1......

Can't speak for Mario Galaxy and OB, but GTAIV is better than MP and SC IMO, so I agree with the review.

Here's the real answer.

F.E.A.R. managed to become one of the most interesting, and best FPS' early on in the Xbox 360's library, where it maintains that rank to this day. Its campaign easily beats Halo 3's and stands undisputed where FPS is concerned on HD consoles, discounting the king of kings, TOB, which doesn't deserve mentioning(It's far beyond everything, including this conversation). Of course this is just my opinion but hell....it is MY opinion, so that's all that needs saying. Most of you have never even played the game, which makes my opinion even more valid, but now I'm just gloating.

Killzone 1 was a mediocre romp through a Halo emulation. Again, most of you have never actually played the game....mostly because of reviews, but I digress.

Now, Killzone 2 is obviously at least a little overhyped. All exclusives are. F.E.A.R. 2, however, has managed to squeeze itself under the radar for the most part. Which game will be better, we have no clue.

However, one thing is very probable.

F.E.A.R. 2, in all likelyhood, will exceed your modest expectations.

Killzone 2 couldn't live up to them in a million years.

So F.E.A.R. 2 has something going for it, at least.....besides the fact that F.E.A.R. is one of the best games this generation.

Yeah people were hyping the living shit out of Afrika, Killzone 2 beta exceeded my expectations so how couldn't it live up to them in a million years?

Because you even saying that is actually building hype for the game. The game isn't out yet. You have very high expectations for it, after the beta. It can't live up to them.

Anyway, if you actually can't understand what I'm saying, then that's on you bro. I'm sick of explaining inciteful logic.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

If they only release the 3 maps that were in the beta then that's already enough for me, anything else is just icing on the cake.

I played the PC version, I don't own any current gen consoles. F.E.A.R was boring imo, why is that so amazing to believe? It certainly isn't the first highly rated games I haven't enjoyed much.
Crysis, Bioshock, GTA IV, Dead Space and Fallout 3 to name a few.
On the flipside; I greatly enjoyed Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, which score quite low all across the board.
When the hell did me or Dallinor pass out opinions for fact anyway? Different tastes, its not like I don't like FPS games, I only like good ones, is all.
This is why we own different games and consoles disolitude, because our tastes differ. I could probably mention some game or other that scored high that you didn't like, doesn't make it wrong for you not to enjoy it, review scores do not affect how a game plays for you.

Jeez...

Is that logic that incites more arguments or did you just mean insightful?

I kid I kid

OT:

Gah.... I can't stand it, I'm replaying FEAR while waiting for FEAR 2. I need Alma....
