Why not pick up Unreal Tournament III? It's under $20 everywhere, and there aren't many franchises that are faster-paced than the UT series (plus it supports keyboard + mouse!)

I never played the demo to Valkyria Chronicles, just the full game. However in my experience thus far, RPGs should not have demos. I have yet to play a demo to an RPG that was representative of my experience with the final game. The game play systems of RPGs are usually taught to the player slowly throughout the game.

In the demo's I've played they throw everything at the player at once and that just gives an inaccurate impression. I didn't like the Tales of Vesperia demo, but I loved the full game. I loved the Eternal Sonata demo, and was disappointed in the full game. I thought the Blue Dragon demo was terrible but I enjoyed the full game because I had a grasp on the customizations of the shadows.

Valkyria Chronicles is an excellent game. It's unfortunate that the demo of seems incapable of conveying that. That seems to be the case with RPG demos on the whole.

I would not recommend Motorstorm for a fast racer. Those games feel really slow to me.

I would recommend Burnout Paradise if you want a fast racer.
Get Call of Duty 4 or 5 or Resistance 2 if you want a great shooter. Otherwise it looks like you have the right idea in holding out for Killzone 2. That game looks to have lots of replay value. I played the beta and its really fun, but it definitely has a heavier, slower feel than most shooters. The guns feel like they have realistic weight and perhaps armor makes movements such as turning slower as well. It took a little getting used to but in the end it felt right and added to the physics when players ragdoll to their death. The bodies have weight to them as they crash into objects and fly through the air after a well timed grenade. Its awesome!!

Oh and dont miss Resident Evil 5 on March 13th either if you are a fan of action shooters.

Pixeljunk Eden is another one of those titles where you think you've got all the time in the world in the beginning... but when you hit upwards of level 5 >_>;;; oh man... hurry the f*ck up!!!!!

You get pretty much unlimited number of maps, character models, game types, etc... with mods.

You can grab the game for like $20 at most places, definitely worth a look.

I find it mindblowing that you can't enjoy VC or MGS4 but can enjoy Motorstorm. Motorstorm is so slow and boring, by far the most disappointing PS3 title to date for me, even worse than Lair!
