^Its not all stealth. I thinks thats why I like it. You can make it stealth or massive action. There is only oe art of the game where oyu have to fallow and use stealth.

That is why it sucks, the entire point of stealth is that if you get an alert soldiers rush you and if you try to fight you die, you need hide again to survive getting spotted, not kill everyone.

Its a shooter with stealth as an option, is one of the many reasons it sucks compared to other MGS games.

so choice is a bad thing? Who knew??!?!?!

I am a stealthy player who every once in a while ilkes a little gun fire. Whats wrong with that. If I wanted to I can be entirely stealthy, incentive to do this is no longer to just not die but to obtain the higher badges. More fun that way really. As far as I'm concerned, MGS4 has the best gameplay then any of the MGSs,and most action or stealth games in general. It also has the second best story in a MGS game, right behind MGS3 Snake Eater.

MGS4 is quite simply the best game I have ever played.

MGS3 was also very replayable. Even 2. But MGS4 just feels brand new each time. MGS3 got a little to familiar after a bit.

4 ≈ One

Yeah it's the greatest game ever...if that's the only game you've played :P. I felt MGS and MGS3 were way better.

The story made sense unlike this where they answered everything with the same thing. The game felt too linear, easier since you can buy ammo, the backup reinforcements were practically the same guys you fought on the battlefield. In MGS2, the backup came with shields and body armor which made it very difficult to take down. The cutscene-to-gameplay ratio was pretty bad. The dialogue was awful too: "You were the lightning in that rain, you can still shine through the darkness."

It's without a doubt my favourite game this gen so far.

Too bad its sales don't account for it being so good.

Well I've played Sonic Adventure 2 Battle like 30 times through campaign so it must be the best game ever made.

nah just kidding but I'd love to play MGS4 someday. But need my bro to give me his PS2 so I can play the first 3 then borrow his PS3 to play the 4th haha. Hate starting in the middle of series.

We salute Solid Snake and Kojima for this Masterpiece. Epic in Every sense of the word.

If there is no real punishment to not being stealthy there is no point in being stealthy.

In the other games if you got spotted you either ran and hide someone else quickly, or died trying to fight them off.    In MGS4 if you get spotted you just kill them, easily.

I have yet to play this game for obvious reasons, but based on my experiences with the other three Metal Gear Solids, the original Metal Gear on the NES, Splinter Cell, and Assassin's Creed, I'll say this:

Even if you aren't killed quickly for failing, being stealthy is just fun.

Most who claim MGS4 to be one of the best games ever or anything like that clearly haven't bothered to complete the previous games (well, maybe MGS3 but not the others) or have completed them just for MGS4. That's my conclusion I've got by reading the opinions of the fans of the series. It's a great game but the previous ones were even greater.

Feel free to think MGS4 is one of the greatest games ever, though. I just think it's a pity the worst game in the series gets the most praise. Sure, it's got a lot improved but it's also lost a lot.
