 LOL!!! I love my Wii but I cretainly didnt think t would sell that much either!

That is exactly my point. Wii controls might work for some games, but most definitely would ruin others. I like normal PS123/360 controllers. I would be ok with a waggle controller peripheral that is sererate though. And HD is a must for I feel we should be moving forward not backwards, which I kinda feel the Wii encourages.

The difference is when the uttershit for the PS2 came out. It wasnt in the 1st 2 years of its life.  More "bad" games on the Wii have came out early simply because some pretty poor quality games have sold very very well. Thus the bandwagon jumping started really early.

The PS2 could have 400 bad games on it and still come out with a better ratio for good games(maybe not AAA but good) then the Wii has shown to have done. The wii has some trully awefull games(Hell's Kitchen. LOL What?) pumping out on a regular basis. Even the games that are deemed "AAA" I still mostly dont deem purchase worthy, unless you are simply desperate for games on the Wii, which you most likely will be.

To be honest the only games I have ever enjoyed on the Wii are ...

A. Wii Sports

B.Big Brain Academy

C. Harry Potter

Wii Sports is loads of fun and I deem that one great. Big brain academy is really fun at times too, Harry Potter IMHO is the best game on the damn system and let me tell you why. Because with the motion sensing you get to do all the actual spell movements from the books. I litteraly just kept lifting things with my wand and bashing them into random student's heads, LOLed the entire time as they ran away screaming and crying.

 I disagree on two levels. 1) There was no bandwagon jumping on the PS2, the third parties expected the PS2 to be the marketleading console.  2) PS2 didn't get the games it is remembered for until late 2nd and 3rd years on the market. Its first yr was actually, pretty crappy.

I don't get this idea that the shovelware for the PS1/2 situation is so dire and different for the Wii this gen. The only difference I see is that thirdparties completely wrote the Wii off and to everyones surprise the Wii is the Marketleading console. Other than that shovelware has always found its home on the most succesful consoles.

No argument there, but it is when does the shovelware come not what console it comes out for. The first year of the PS2 had plenty of bad games, but that is different then shovelware games. The shovelware games tend to come from a whole different set of developers that dont even attempt to make high quality games.

I  agree the Wii has tons of crap games but it ain't going to affect PS3 and 360.  Sucess is success however unfortunate in your minds!  One thing is for sure when MS and 360 upgrade their consoles next time tech won't be the only thing on their mind which it shouldn't be!  An over reliance on tech will keep resulting in less and less innovative and unique games and the bankcruptcy of many of our most loved 3rd party manufacturers.  If the PS3 had no Blu ray (don't get me wrong I own 100+ BD movies) we would surely have seen a bigger installed base.

I agree that the Wiimote is terrible at certain games (and I wish more companies allowed the Classic controller as an option especially for my PS3 and 360 owning buddies when they visit) but I loved No more Heroes and I couldn't get that type of game on PS3/360 nor could I get Bloombox or a COD that I actually enjoy the controls more for on Wii.

Many predicted the demise of Nintendo (Sorry to disappoint some of you that it never eventuated) at the end of the last gen but they came out with something unique but low tech (to avert risk) that kept them in the game. 

Competetion is the best thing for the industry and atleast 2 if not all 3 of the manufacturers are doing great.  Companies like Ubi soft should get their heads outta their asses and stop releasing the crap they do on Wii (No More Heroes exempted) but don't blame the console itself.  Anyway as can be witnessed I agree with the sentiments of many of you that dislike the Wii so I shall leave it at that....I have done all the defending I can but I for one love my Wii, hence why I am here doing so and not because of being a fanboy!  I would defend the PS3 and X-Box 360 too if their existence needed to be justified!

 LOL!!!  Please don't remind me how much I spend on Blu Rays but I love running them at 1080P through my PS3!  You wanna know what is really sad though...I own like 150+ HD-DVD movies too and X-Box 360 HD-DVD Player (although I admit I bought like about 80 HD's at bargain prices)!

In other news I hate X-Mas, so much money spent on people other than me!!! LOL!  I havent had enough $$ to buy a Blu Ray since Dark Knight...{runs to admire the Dark Knight BD just once more....}

Also I am not sure I could lend $1000 to someone who liked Harry Potter on Wii...LOL! :)
