and Sony is apparently using these people to make up for the money they've lost on PS3

With MMO's you pay a monthy fee to help keep the servers up and running (they require a TON of maintenance).

In MMO's (successful ones), they don't charge you for gear, experience, weapons, etc.

Microtransactions are getting out of hand.

Assuming that amount, it's not a real cash cow, but it's still an OK amount. Nothing extraordinary though, considering that Home likely cost more than $10 million to develop (one studio working for several years). Now if they can get real money from advertising, they might be on to something.

It's like buying clothes for a doll which is even more productive than purchasing these virtual clothes in Home
