Yes! Go PS3. All we need now to conquer Japan is a Monster Hunter game.

OMFG washimul, at least try to make the automated translation readable !! This is from the link posted by y-koron, it actually reads like this (fast translation, feel free to correct) : "Gundam Musou" ("Gundam unmatched", not "hit and miss") which was expected as the PS3 "killer title", finally went to sale. Approximately 70 % of the first shipping (170-180k units) sold out on the first day of sales. Speaking of first day sales of PS3 promising games, it overwhelming exceeded the VF5 30k by nearly 4 times. If we look at all PS3 games sales for comparison, "Ridge Racer 7" (approx. 130k units), "Gundam" (approx 120k units) ranked itself at number 3 for high potential to change the weekly sales of PS3 units. Unfortunately, the thaw effect on sales is surprisingly low, as it seems the software bundle edition made by Koei ("Kouei" actually, those who made the game, same mechanics as sengoku musou IIRC) wasn't good enough to move people. Every way you look at it, the bundled edition is very expensive but if it was in the same "service price" ("service" in the "japanese" meaning of the word) as Xbox360' Blue Dragon, perhaps it would have sold more ... Leaving the specifications and managing of sales to Koei was probably a mistake. Losing an easy game to the novelty user is a shame. I don't think I understand really the last sentence, though. EDIT for Kwaad : the link of y-koron which is http://ameblo.jp/sinobi/

Would you provide your source please? I can translate it for everyone.

It's JAPAN. Land of the anti-360 fanboys. The 360 isn't popular there, so what? You don't see 360-bots like myself constantly posting about how the 360 has slaughtered the PS3 month in and month out since launch (sales of 3 360s to 1 PS3), but I won't because I don't want to dis-service the PS3. It's odd your bashing a dead 360, when its clear the PS3 is nearly dead considering it HAD a 60% marketshare last gen, and now only has 30% of this gen. The 360 has GAINED marketshare (albeit not much), the Wii has GAINED marketshare this generation. And the PS3 has plummeted. Even if it sold 100k units this week and kept selling 100k units, it'd take more than a year to meet with the Wii - if not more. That my friends, is a J-Sony fanboys worst nightmare. It's great that Gundam Mosou sold around 150k-170k s/w units this week and boosted the system 100% in sales. However, Gundam Mosou is the only title to help the PS3 for quite some time. Unless it keeps bringing in sales of 30k-40k each week until Christmas, I don't see how the PS3 will suddenly ressurect itself from the rut that it is in Japan.
aha signs of desperation from an x360 fanboy...........trust me this is just the beginning. US domination starts from MARCH 6th and after MARCH 23 x360/wii wont be on the european shelves anymore

"The Gundam incomparableness" that "attracted attention as a ■ killer title of PS3: Gundam incomparableness "■ PS3: "Gundam incomparableness withPLAYSTATION3(60GB)" PS3 was finally released". After an interval of favorable condition to sell out about 70% at the first day of ten thousand first time shipment number (17~18 books), I kick out an overwhelming number to go around about 30,000 in around 4 times of "Virtua Fighter 5" for the number of the first sunrise of the year sale of software for PS3. The third place to be next to "Ridge Racer 7" (about 130,000), "Gundam" (about 120,000) can be accompanied even if I try to compare it with all software released in PS3, and possibility to update a sale record of PS3 use with the number of the sale in the first week is high. Unfortunately a traction effect of the main body is low unexpectedly, and the soft bundling printing block which Koe prepared remains, and movement doesn't seem to be good. By all odds if an expensive main body bundling version is a service price at the same level as "a blue dragon pack" of Xbox360, it may have moved more, but it will be failure that I was able to leave specifications and the circulation of a ... bundling version to Koe. It is a shame that I unexpectedly lost a new user here.
That is what my translator got.

Wii is already off the shelves in Europe. They can't keep them there.

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

Good news for Sony, btw. Pretty impressive first day sales, considering the install base, and there should be a double in PS3 hardware week-to-week. Now the trick is getting a second hit in a short time frame, and start some momentum going.

It definately looks like this game will be number one or two in Japanese sales this (next) week (depends on Monster Hunter numbers). And it's something that Sony could really use. But it seems odd to say that this game somehow harkens the beginning of the PS3's reign over the Wii, since the Wii had four titles in the top ten last (this) week.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Wow, why do these games sell so well? They suck. I played them they suck. All of the games god reviews of around 5/10. Why are they so popular?
