Unlikely.... 1 million in a week is reserved for very few consoles, In the last 8 years (with good VGC data) only 4 pieces of hardware have managed it. (GBA, PS2, DS and Wii) the 360 was lucky to get this close.

If the PS3 has a timely price cut next christmas then it could have a chance, but after that it will be too late.

Impossible, there will never be enough PS3's in stock to make it to a million. Sony knows the demand just isn't there.

No, I don't believe it will get a million in a week any time soon or at all. The price point is too high. By the time the PS3 reaches $199 (2011-2012) demand will have steadied (Compared to now) itself and sell gradually rather than quickly.

if some big games are coming out for christmas next year it's possible that will sell 800/900k.. 1 million it's hard :/ (though, this year, at 399$ and no big game in those week, it gets 500+.. so maybe is more possible than we think)

Japan - 80k
America - 400k
Europe - 520k

Even with a GT5 release + winter pricecut one-two punch, it seems like a long shot.

After a console starts to get older, it loses its potential to get these big sales. It would also have to be during christmas season. So I would say that christmas 2009 would be its last chance.

I don't see the ps3 doing it next year even 'if' it had a $100 price cut. I don't see it doing that any time later no matter the price. So I'll go with no.

If it was Black Friday, there was a price cut and Gran Turismo 5 released, absolutely. But all of those have to happen together, otherwise no.
