Here is another one:

Retro and Nintendo will announce something spectacular, something that will have PS3 and 360 fanboys say big deal, but on the inside they will cry and want to kill themselves

PS3 will make the biggest comeback in gaming history, if its price is cut by $100

quote me on it.

Please define "biggest comeback in gaming history". PS3 outsell 360 in 2009? PS3 outsell Wii? PS3 outsell Wii + 360 combined? PS3 hit 45 million WW like CrazzyMan predicted?

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

PS3 domination starts in 09. With a price cut and killer exclusives it will soon be the software beast, best blu ray player and hardware beast. PS3 will overtake the 360 late next year or early 2010. Just wait until
KILLZONE 2 + PRICE CUT = PS3 HD CONSOLE DOMINATION BEGINS!!!

@Dark Chaos: Nice joke account :P

My predictions:

7. Blizzard announces that they will start doing games for consoles.

Why on earth would they do that? Because they're sick of making tons and tons of money?

Cashing money now doesn't mean that they will do it forever. Their games has been stellar but with console their sales would skyrocket even more. Gping mutliplattform would be logical and now that both PS3 and 360 are reaching over 20 million and 30 million the base is big enough.

So you think Blizzard is going to go to console and release the most popular third party game ever released? Because that's what it would take to match sales of their recent games on the PC. And on the PC, most of their revenue comes from a $15/mo monthly subscription now which cannot be done on consoles.

And the Wii is currently the only console that could do RTS games properly -- Blizzard's strongest franchise in terms of quality-over-the-competition.

They might release a game or two on console, as they have been planning for years and years, but PC offers superior control, superior power, and superior online. And for blizzard, superior revenues. Downgrading from the PC to a PS3 would be a huge hit.

8. More PS3 exclusives.

Here's a correction for you:

8. More PS3 exclusives go to the 360 and multiplat.

Fun thread =)

1) PS3 will have two price cuts in 2009 -- a $70 cut in March, clearing out current 65nm/65nm models, and another $30 cut in Sept., accompanied by a 45nm/45nm PS3 slimline model.

2) The PS3 will perform extremely well next Holiday season, thanks to a $299.99 pricetag, an attractive case redesign, and the ever looming influence of Blu-Ray and HDTV. The Wii will still outsell it.

3) The Wii's sales will begin to taper off -- but not to the point where either of its "current gen competitors" can match its sales #s.

4) Microsoft will post some relatively low margins in the first financial quarter of 2009, for their entertainment division, due to delays in Jasper production, coupled with a large pricecut. Microsoft's entertainment division Q4 FY 2009 will be excellent, thanks to the benefits of the cheaper Jasper hardware and excellent holiday hardware sales driving software-based income.

5) A significant number of Sony's first- and second-party titles will be released in 2009, providing a large lineup of excellent titles, in turn driving increased PS3 sales.

6) Sony isn't done announcing new exclusive titles for 2009 yet. Neither is MS, although MS's announcements will largely appeal more to the casual/family audience.

7) Nintendo will announce some 2010 first-party releases, and will do their best to encourage 3rd party development on the Wii in 2009. They will not announce any serious 1st-party titles for the Wii that are to-be-released in 2009. Some will blame this strategy for the (minor) decline in Wii sales over 2008, but other factors are really more relevant.

8) PC gaming will continue to surge forward, as will PSN, XBLA, and WiiWare titles. Some of the best titles of the year will be smaller scale downloadable releases.

9) Sony will offer a "premium" service for PSN, which includes MMO subscriptions (or discounts on them) and a Qore subscription for a small monthly fee.

10) Microsoft will announce a partnership with a large MMO publisher, and at least one of that publisher's MMOs will be announced for the 360.

Well FF XI on 360 requires subscription so why not? and there is no technical limit on PS3 or 360 to stop them from that. If Blizzard sat down with Sony and MS they would have no problems to convince neither of them to agree on subscription.

They have 1 game on PC creating 15 dollar per month from subsrcibers and that game won't last forever.

Yes PC's are superior but releasing a game on PS3/360 allways gives superior sales as we can clearly see from the stats. So if blizzard would release a game crossplattform i can bet you both my nuts that the console versions would outsell PC versione vastly.

I'm not saying that the will drop PC, I'm just saying that moving to consoles will be a very smart move if you look at revenues.

Looking at StarCraft as an example. Since launch they have sold around 10 million copies, 4 million of them in South Korea. In 2 years Halo 3 on 1 plattform have sold nearly 9 million copies. In 1 year CoD 4 has sold over 10 million combined on both excluding PC sales which is much less. A well done Blizzard game (they don't do bad games) released on all 3 plattforms would easily create over 15 million in sales under 1 year.

All I'm saying is that Blizzard has the money and capacity to go multi and they can do that without killing PC or not use the power of it (their games are never the most high end technical on PC anyway) and that they would make vastly more money then they are currently making. With PS3 and 360 reaching a base of 50 million combined they would have a solid base to sell tons of games.

Predictions for 2009:

360: 39-42 PS3: 31-34 Wii: 67-70

Future projection

Wii will hit 100 million before christmas 2010 (made december 2008)

NDS Family will have sold and shipped more then PS2 at the end of 2009 (made january 2009)

Im just going simple
Wii:73 Million
360: 37.5 Million
PS3: 30 Million

Former something....
