That's why I hate online functions in games like these, they always mess up the game somehow... No I'm not really a fan of online gaming, still 7,7,7... and then okay an 8? Did they really have to be so harsh on those scores only because of the online part? They're never harsh on Square Enix games?! Children of Mana, Last Remnant, crap games that got high scores. It doesn't make any sense.

Oh well, it will take at least 6 months before we'll get to see the game around here... best is to wait what reviewers around here have to say around the time the game releases in the West. But I slightly fear for the Japanese sales.

TLR is far from crap. Try playing a game instead of reading reviews.. maybe check mrstickball's thread about TLR or play it yourself. But wait, you're the girl who thinks SO4 is going to PS3 because of some cover art missing the 360 logo, even though BioShock had "Only of 360" on it and there are multiple people in that thread posting cover art of many of the same games with and without the logo that are exclusive.

Even if TLR/etc was crappy and got higher scores, what's that saying about WKC? Ouch.. next time don't buy system for one new IP that hasn't come out yet, especially when that system lacks in that fields genre. It should be bought for multiple games. Stop whining to us...

Take your own advice. That game IS CRAP. The game has so many technical problems, it's barely playable for 10 minutes. The game has constant balancing issues, and by far the worst audio for any RPG out now. People who think that TLR was good are completely biased.

That is complete bullshit. I have own the game, it is quite playable. You may not like it and that is fine, but that line I highlighted is a flat out lie. Mass Effect has more technical issues. Mass Effect is one of my favorite games of the generation but that game had some game breaking bugs. It also had frame rate drops. Frame rate drops on a turn based games do not riddle it unplayable. Is it annoying? Certianly but since its turned based, it doens't effect the gameplay.

Maybe I'm a better gamer than I thought because I haven't run into any balancing issues. There was only one enemy that I had an issue with, The Dragon Boss from the Balterossa side quest. And frankly I had no business fighting him with a max party size of nine but with a two unions consisenting of five and four units respectively, I still nearly managed to defeat him. I had his HP critical. It's strategy RPG. Any "balancing" issues is probably due to your lack of strategic planning. A soon as got my upgrade to a max of twelve units, I had three unions of four and the one enemy that gave me trouble fell harder the US stock market over the past year. Hell if you want to make the game easier you can wuss out and let the game automatically do your critical offense and defense for you. I chose not and I don't see these balancing issues.

As for audio, play Baten Kaitos 1 with voice overs turned on and get back me.

@Crazzyman

No, I'd give it a solid 8.5 though. TLR on 360 is about 7.5 so far. It all comes down to the battle system. I have to deduct a point for the technical issues on the 360 version.

I stopped trusting them when they gave Haze a 34/40......

But comparatively speaking, Halo got a 37.

Yep, Haze is almost as good as Halo.....

So your attacking the 1,000+ post thread at NeoGAF that is praising the game, with many users playing it non stop?

What about myself and Louie - who are both reviewing TLR and planning on giving it good scores?

TLR has technical problems...But most JRPGs this generation have. Aside from that, it's a fantastic game. How much of it did you play before saying it's crap?

Stickball, while I do not doubt that this is a good game, marred by some technical problems, let's be honest here.  You're going to rate any exclusive 360 game high, and sing it's praises, and look beyond it's faults.  Let's not mince words here.

I do look forward to Louie's review.  I'd pick this up for under thirty bucks on Amazon.  Hope that happens soon.

It will sell pretty well in Japan nonetheless. Level 5 is a well respected brand already, just wait and see, and believe.

Wow, this thread went on longer that I thought it would. Colour me surprised!

I'm not too worried about the score, it's the content that I really look for.

@Mr. Stickball

If you truly appreciate what the SaGa team brings to the table in terms of combat style and just like me enjoy the fact that they at least always try something new, do yourself a favor and try some of their older titles like SaGa Frontier 1 & 2 and the Romancing SaGa series.

All games that have recieved very harsh reviews yet offer more than enough enjoyment, regardless of their technical issues.

It just pains me to see games ignored for the wrong reasons. I myself am still waiting for my copy of TLR to come in from Gamefly. I am glad some people here appreciate this team like I do and ignore what reviewers think, because their opinions are just that, their opinions.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Och what crappy scores

Wow, the PS3 can't seem to catch a break these days.
