Miley performed on x factor in the uk recently (i only had one eye on it, not really watching it *cough* lol)

I think what this mindset alludes to is that with higher sales = more exclusives and lower sales = less games and, if you're selling the worst AND coming last it doesn't invoke much consumer confidence in a long life, causing a big stir of doubt in the supposed '10 year plan'.

The WW gap between 360 & PS3 was 7,021,408 as at 29th December 2007 (as close to 1st Jan 2008 as possible)
Currently the WW gap is 6,836,022 so that leaves 185,386 for the 360 to overtake the PS3 for 2008
It should do quite easily that with last weeks' Americas numbers

PS3 is doing amazing for it's price. 

I agree fully. $400 is what a console should launch at, not be at 2 years later. It's doing just fine with its high price tag.

actually, it's not doing so hot. It's down by 53k from last year this week in Others, while the 360 is up by 178k. That is not good for Sony, especially considering they're already behind MS.

Sony has to make the ultimate decision here and there will be no turning back from it. Do they cut the price and go for broke? or do they try to cut their losses and accept third place? Not a pleasant situation to be in. If I were them though, I'd go with the latter option and wait for the next gen. (Hey, if Nintendo can pull off a third-place-to-****ing-first...)
