So fucking what?

FF7 was on 3 discs, nobody talks smack about that.

Every Star Ocean so far, with the exception of the very first one on SFC has been multi-disc, but nodbody bitched about them.

then came the DVD and FF x ffx 2 and ffxii were released on a single DVD

thats what he mean.

being cheap, you lose that.

No they don't, lol. Nobody really cares about that. It's all fake outrage. It's like me saying I hate required installs for PC games....except it's not nearly as bad as installs. It's like 30 seconds verses 15 minutes.

In fact, for gaming, BR isn't an advantage at all, actually, as long as they can put games on multiple discs.

The thing is, if Sony fans admitted that multiple discs weren't a significant problem, they'd have to admit that BR wasn't a significant advantage...and that's not happening.

It's a pointless debate, really. Whining over changing a disc while perfectly accepting required installs...me thinks the lady doth protest too much. It's just a rediculious argument....It's like complaining that my iPhone takes 5 seconds to turn on instead of instantly.

It's a fake argument, made by Sony fans, and nobody really cares about that, lol. It takes 5 seconds. If you have time to whine about that, then you're in for a hard life...

It literally took every poster on this thread longer to write any one of their posts than it would have taken them to change all 3 discs on Star Ocean. Literally. Just think about that for a second.

That said, I've been blowing this argument out of the water, very validly I might add, since page 1, and people just skim over my posts and continue to propogandize the Sony agenda, so it's kinda pointless for me to go on.

Even though Zen is pompous and arrogant.../Thread

TBH if swapping disc is such a big deal....just install the game to your 360 HDD,Simple as that, everyones happy no complaining.

To be honest with you, based on libraries, I would probably still choose the Xbox 360 as my main console, if it was 399, and the PS3 was 199. For me, it's not about the price. All of my friends have 360's, and I love Gears of War and Fable. I also love MGS4 and Disgaea but you have to make sacrafices either way. I can't imagine this generation without achievements. It adds a lot to the game for me.

I certainly would have both though, were I to have the more expensive console. It's impossible not to pick up an HD console for 199, whichever one it is. Especially when it consistantly pleasantly surprises you with huge 3rd party games, like Star Ocean, lol.

FFXIII for 360 might not have been a good day for Sony fans(it certainly wasn't a good day for me.)

...but for 360 owners, it was like hearing that you get the best game ever on your console, and your biggest competitor loses its biggest talking point. It was a 2 way swing of epic sex. I'm sure that was quite an orgasmic experience for 360 fanboys.

...anyway, my point is, "being cheap" assumes that you are getting an inferior product. It's an assumption that Sony fans keep trying to make a "general belief," but it isn't true.

As a gaming machine, the Xbox 360 is actually better, at equal pricing, because it has a better library, imo. Now, I'm not sure how many people would agree with me, but I know a couple of websites that would. The PS3 is a superior machine...but wouldn't it be an inferior console? Isn't console quality determined by its library? Wouldn't buying a superior/equal gaming console for half the price be considered "being smart" instead of "being cheap."

One of two things are undeniably true when discussing gaming consoles:

1. With the PS3 you get less than what you pay for.

or

2. With the Xbox 360, you get more than what you pay for.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

@Zenfolder but Zen we have to put ourselves in the shoes of such people that complain! Perhaps adding 400 lbs of body mass in fat will allow us to understand the difficulty of standing up to change a disc, and feel the hardship of disc swapping. As body mass increases so do the amount of calories it takes to get up, push a button swap a disc and somehow scramble their fat ass back into their seat. It's a life or death situation! Without calories how will these people survive?! Only one solution eat more, so now disc swapping costs you more money in food as well!

btw I hope you know I'm being sarcastic and completely agree with you. This whole disc swapping is a bunch of crap, the DC is a perfect example, a 1 GB Disc can output graphics that can match PS2? Inconceivable!!

Oh boy i sound like a PS fanboy <_<,i mean multi disc is no deal to 360 owners,we can install the game to our HDD.

No one expected it to "not" be multi-disc on DVD. Every Star Ocean has been multi-disc. Multi-disc does not mean a lesser game.

However, would it have been better if it were not xbox360 exclusive? yes, it definitely would.

We would just like to know if Xbox 360 users are happy with the old DVD format, or would that much rather games on the Blu-ray format

At the moment they seem to be quite content with DVDs otherwise more people would buy a PS3 and less people a 360. This will change once Sony gets up from their asses and lowers the price for a 2 year old piece of hardware. I really don't know how they still made losses in the last quarter.

but i am only 125lbs and still want my games on a single disc =D

I think Star Ocean has a good shot to be the first JRPG (only talking about HD - don't know how well JRPGs for Wii sell, sorry.) to be a million-seller. Lost Odyssey sold 800k and did a great job in doing so. Star Ocean is way more popular in Japan, so I expect a 150k sales from Japan. Star Ocean III sold 750k in the US alone, so I think, this one might sell pretty well in the West, too.

But the PS-fanboys are sooo funny. TLR is about 60 hours, Star Ocean will just take as long as TLR did (maybe even longer? I mean it comes on 3 DVDs TLR came on 2). So why are 3 Discs a problem? Getting out your seat every 20 hours is a big deal? Come on! If you play 3 hours a day, you insert the first disc and change it a week later. That can not be a problem at all.

This is just a way of trolling. PS3 fans act like DVD would be the wrong format for gaming. GTA IV fit on 1 DVD, Gears of War2 fit on 1 DVD, Fable2 fit on 1 DVD. So there is space developers can create great games with.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
