We sure are hypnotized by Microsoft, it's kind of scary... Any other brand having that kind of flaw in its product gets banned from our house for life, not Microsoft products, we forgive them so many times no matter what happens next...

Windows crashes, ok, restart and continue, BSOD? hope i saved my stuff and i better check how i handle my PC, Registry? just format, IE? i don't mind that browser, Office problems? reinstall, and the list keeps going and going...

Meanwhile, i've seen people that say "My Samsung TV doesn't show picture, i'll never buy a Samsung TV again"... But the 360 gets the RROD, i don't hear them saying "I'll never buy a Microsoft console again"...

I don't know, maybe it's just me...

BEST POST EVER!  You have completely summed up my exact feelings about the 360 and the RROD.  Why the hell are people so forgiving of Microsoft for such a faulty product?  Anarchyz = my new hero.

If you look at my comment earlier you will see why people are so forgiving of the 360. In the same way people were so forgiving of the PS2 with it's unreliable laser reader with NO free extended warranty the Microsoft is giving out. I remember faulty PS2's flooding eBay and did gamers invest in alternatives? Some did but most went out and bought another PS2.

Personally, I never had any PS2 hardware issues.  Regardless, I'm pretty confident the PS2 failure rate was nowhere near that of the 360.

@ The Anarchyz,
It's only because the product is so good... we need it.

"Don't care if it breaks, give me another one... RIGHT F***** NOW!"

You know a product is good when people crave it, even if there is a major flaw.

Or the people are just dumb and like to waste money?

If that;s true, I guess you could say we are cheap. PS3 owners still pay ALOT more money for their console, sending a 360 in for a repair or 2 is free.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... Having mine RRoDed recently, here's the easiest, quickest way to get your console back:

1. Log in to www.xbox.com with your XBL Gamertag
2. Go to 'support' and 'repair console'
3. Select that the issue was RRoD
4. Print out pre-paid UPS shipping label
5. Ship
6. Get console back in a week or so.

I did the said steps a few days ago for my RRoD. It took me far longer to pack the box & take it to my local UPS Store than it did finding out what to do on xbox.com and printing the label out.

My X360 RRoD'ed on November the 18th. I procrastinated, and shipped the console out on the 22nd. Looking at Microsoft's tracking system, my X360 is en-route to my house, but was fixed last Friday or so...I expect to have my X360 back by Wednesday or Thursday.

My Falcon 360 succumbed to the E74 error on November 13th. I went to support.xbox.com, filed a claim and selected the coffin, which arrived on Nov. 18th. Sent the console off the next day, and it was delivered in Mesquite, TX on the 24th, "fixed" on the 25th and assigned a new console serial # on the 26th. I received an email on the 26th notifying me that I'd be sent a UPS tracking number shortly. Here I am on December 2nd with no tracking number. Getting more pissed off by the day.

Oh, and twice on the 27th and once on the 28th I received an email saying they had received my repair request but not my console and that if I didn't send in my console in 30 days the request would be canceled. WTF?

Wow... are you me too?!?!?!?   LOL man, this is ridiculous... I received the same confirmation email on the 27th, but still no tracking # and both yesterday AND today i received those "we haven't received your repair request" emails... what the fuck is going on at Microsoft right now?  They must be overrun with 360's that RROD'd!

And the best is there's constantly people on here saying how the RROD problem is blown WAAAYYYY outta proportion... what will it take to convice them otherwise?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

You (and other people) are constantly forgetting that the PS3 does more than games.  I bought it not only for the games, but for the Blu-ray playback since I'm a huge movie freak.  I also use it for MP3s.

I'll be playing games while your waiting for M$ to send you another 360 with flawed hardware.  I thought they were supposed to fix this with the Falcon Chip, now its the Jasper chip, its been 3 years and they still can't get the failure rate below 10%.

Well, I can almost guarantee you that I am a bigger movie freak, but I have no intrest in blu-ray. Sure, a game system/blu-ray player is a great bargain, but for someone who would prefer movies that are 20-30$ cheaper, we'll stick with DVD. I think that is the current feeling among people as the economic crisis increases. I use my psp and xbox 360 as mp3 polayers PSP mostly though, as I don't like music unless an earbud is in my ears.

Towel trick is the best RROD fix. You can do the towel trick over and over and get a week or two play with your X360, every time you do the towel trick.

Alternatively you can send it to MS who hopefully give you a replacement console if your X360 is less than 12 months old. Ifyour X360 is aged between 12 months and 36 months, MS fixes your console but there is no guarantee the console will last when MS fix it. Anywhere between a day or 2 years the console can last without RROD when MS have fixed it for you or they have given you a remanufactured X360 in its place.

If everything else fails with your X360, you can buy a new X360 they are cheap in price starting at $200.

Actually, I bought an Arcade after my 20gb Premium crapped out. However, it was made in Feb. 2006 and MS repaired my old one for free. I am going to sell it after I get a transfer cable. Had a blast with it, but I love how my Arcade runs cooler and I have much more space with the 120gb hard drive instead of the 20gb.

.... and that's your wrong opinion.

I have never gotten RRoD, and i don't plan to. If you use precautions, the risk lowers. The wait is only 2 weeks or so (maybe 1 week now?) but I'm taking a break from my xbox right now anyway, so I don't care. Xfire says I've been busy

And I think it is lower that 10% now, there are people who still own old models though.

after your first rrod your suppose to sacrifice a small animal like how i did. and look no more rrod.

I feel your pain. Im still waiting for my 360 to get back after its third RRoD :/ Oh well, just think of the amazing games you'll be playing when you get it back.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
