Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo gets sued......Again

Does anyone know when Nintendo's Wii patents were filed?

As many times as Nintendo has been sued, it's funny that we never hear about these companies suing each other. If their patents are that similar, that should be happening, too. Instead, they are going for the deep pockets years after the fact.

 doesnt work that way.

Any time a company makes money someone sues. MS and Sony are sued on a regular basis also

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Xbox live:mywiferocks

Didn't Nintendo license the motion technology from another company anyway?

Why not?  All these companies are going after Nintendo for supposedly copying their motion controls.  If that is the case, then all of these companies are copying every else's motion controls.

Example:

Company B sues A for copying their motion controls.

Company C sues A for copying their motion contols.

How are B and C also not infringing on each other's patents?

The only way that could be true, is if B and C only pick out very specific points from A's patent, which don't exist in each other's.  From what I have seen, these patents are usually just mention controling something on screen with a physical motion.  Very generic and all very close to each other's designs.  It seems to me they are just going after the deep pockets.

Anyway, who was actually the first to patent this?

This falls in the same category with the Major in a turkish town who want to sue the director of the latest batman film beacuse they use the word batman wich is the same name his town has...

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

It doesnt work that way because those companies aren't making money off of the invention. Companies can't sue you because you had an idea to use something. The can only sue you when you start using that idea to make money.

I'm sure if George Washington as still alive in todays America he'd sue Nintendo too for stealing his idea for a 'Revolution'.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

lol again? Companies are getting sued like what...every 2 months?

It's pretty consistent if you think about it. Ask yourselves, why are these suits popping up so frequently, though seemingly weeks to months apart?

I think the answer lies in that they all filed their complaints, but the courts are just now getting to them. I'd imagine the courts for patents are jammed full at this day and age.

Wouldn't this make sense, though? Who in their right mind would say "Oh, hey, they're making money of that there Wii thing... We should sue them to get money!" two years after the fact? That doesn't make sense to me.

Just my two cents.

The BuShA owns all!

Most of the time these people suing are commision based lawyers chasing a quick out of court settlement. Money for nothing, greedy fuckers.
