DAM! Tehy are making alot of money.

That's aprox $663.5 Million in profit (in U.S. currency)... Not bad... very close to what I expected (2.4 billion plus profit for the year).

Edit: Looking at those percentage jumps over last year, one would expect if that trend continued for the entire year, Nintendo would have a total profit of 6+ Billion this year... So my 2.4 billion is really looking to be on the low side.

Hmmm...  seems like one hell of a business plan that Nintendo is executing on.

If I'm not mistaken, Nintendo will make more money in just this year than Sony made during the entire stretch of domination that the PS2 experienced. Can anyone tell me if I have this correct?

Bodhesatva, I can't confirm that (not sure about Sony's financials), but the numbers here are disgusting nonetheless. The net income (up 400%) is absolute insanity. Companies just do not do those kind of numbers under normal circumstances. Even more impressively, Nintendo forecasts more strong growth for the upcoming fiscal year; they project their net income (ie profit) to increase from the 80 million yen in this current quarter, to a whopping 245 million yen for the end of FY 2008 as a whole. And since that's probably a conservative estimate as well... look out.

If I had the $40,000 to spare, I would definitely invest it in Nintendo stock right now.

You know every single time i hear about Nintendos financial reports that put them on top of the industry food chain i always retrieve a memory of when i first played duckhunt, when i was but a wee little lad. I remember the..fun :)

Hmm. 9.2m Wiis @ the end of June? At some point, the Wii must be sitting on shelves somewhere (small countries in Europe), or theres a few in the supply chain.

Did they give a by-region number?

Tons of DS's available too - 2m or so in the supply chain.

Sheesh, Nintendo REALLY knows how to do business.
