Now that's a major increase in profits. To expand on what Sullla said, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo makes more money this year than Sony will from 17 (ahem, 22, "10 year plan") years of being in the video game market. If not this year then definitely next year's Nintendo profits will. Even if you include BluRay royalties I'd wager.
BTW, I didn't fully research that statement, hence the qualifiers. IIRC Sony made about $2 billion each of the last generations and has lost about $2-3 billion so far this generation which will of course narrow over time. If that's wrong please correct me.
