Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo will not fix the storage problem

Hay there --OkeyDokey-- I say horses for courses to your comment. Im 38 years old and having these downloadable games are heven sent. I have kept all my old consols/computers and emulators right back to the Atari 2600 and even ferther to the old Pong machines. Its very nastalgic to play these games we once did 30 years ago. Your right some game suck but most didnt. In those days the machines didnt have the flash bang grafics and audio like today so the game had to be well structured and engrossing. Some old games only used 1Kb RAM to make a text adventure that kept you hunting for hours or days. Have a look at a game called Elite on the Commodore 64. With its limited RAM of about 38Kb and 1Mhz CPU it put out a game that was so big it was reveared for years after. I own all the new consols and play most of the new games and not many hold my interests like the old games did. Todate only one game on the PS3 that does is Assassins Creed because of its magnatued of the scape. Xbox360 for me was Halo again because of its depth and scape.
Nintendo saw fit to emulate these games because they where so much fun.

But I must agree with most posters here about Nintendos carelessness with the data handling on the Wii and SD. Maybe they didnt expect it to be so popular?

Did I misunderstand the OP or did you confirm IGN quoting Iwata confirming that Nintendo confirmed that we would be able to do the exact same thing we could do since the launch of VC?

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Great work ramuji.

I'm sure that is not what most people want to hear. It still sounds like you will have to shuffle around your VC games from Wii to SD card to be able to play the one you want.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Taking a quick look at the Internet (that wonderful source of knowledge), it appears that most interpretations of what Nintendo has announced is that games will be playable in some form off of the SD card.

How that will work or what that means is not currently known -- and may not even be finalized. Similarly, it may be possible to get the Wii to not only play from an SD card but to recognize a larger SD card via a firmware update.

Time will tell.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Did that post really accomplish anything other than getting you a warning?  If you can't really contribute anything don't even bother posting in the thread.

Posts like this are why I started coming to VGChartz in the first place. Please don't make these forums as bad as the GameFaqs forums. Don't post senseless crap like this.

Mod beat me to it :P

32GB SD cards are already available in the market and 64GB is just at the doorstep. Whey people want HDD is beyond me.

That's what is so frustrating about this situation... Nintendo has the solution sitting there built into their system and they refuse to take advantage of it.

Really, some of their actions make even the most obtuse things done by Apple look smart. They need to stop embracing old ideas (while promoting new, exciting ones that they invent) and move into the present.

OK, so, my friend has a bunch of VC games & puts them on his SD card. If he comes over, can we play those VC games on my Wii? Moreover, can i transfer those games over to my Wii?
