The PS3 held up OK in light of the 360 price cuts.
I heard the MGS4 bundle is hard to find though. Maybe that's what he meant by shortages, or maybe it is just spin..

My theory has long been that PS3 projections for the year ending March 2009 were set intentionally low.
I mean they shipped 9.24m at a higher average price point with fewer games in the year ending March 31 2008. Only projecting 10m for the year ending March 31 2009 was silly with the PS3 mainly $400 now and with more titles out.
If anything they shouldn't be crowing about this yet - 360 sales are up in Europe, Japan and the USA - so PS3 sales relative to Sony's expectations may yet be blunted for the holidays and beyond barring a PS3 price cut.
If your 15 year old kid wants to play Call of Duty: World of War and you could buy a $200 360 or a $400 PS3 to get the same experience you have to believe Microsoft will benefit. Blu Ray to me is exactly the kind of frill people cut back on when they have a comparable substitute (DVD, etc) in a bad economy.
I'm not that high on PS3 sales this holiday but Sony should end up around 12m PS3s shipped for the year ending March 31 2009 unless something dramatic happens (360 or Wii at $150 for instance).

Shows how badly SONY has fallen when their CEO is happy to just "meet" their sales. Wow just pathetic. Looks like he forgot how the PS2 used to sell 20+mil.
People can be very short-sighted. The pricecut just occured, within a week or two 360 will be back under PS3 in Japan and most likely in Europe within the month. America, who knows, it fluctuates more wildly than the other two regions. I know it's fun to be negative, but the PS3 is not in the abysmal position people make out. Not trolling, just saying people trying to damage control for Sony, just wait. Things will look better in a few weeks.
