Fun while it lasted, but enough was enough. Definitely agree with the decision.

Again, this wouldn't have happened if people had known how to do things in moderation.  I really hate to have to do it, but it's unfortunate that our site can manage to kill a joke in hours.

It is the weekend after all. The number of people on this site are low on the weekends. The threads help add some life to these forums.

Agreed. The other threads that stole the original idea should be locked. Stealing someone elses thread should result in a warning and thread lock.

Regulate, son!

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Because then it's unbalanced moderating.  I have to treat everyone equally.  If I say Sony has the right to a topic but Nintendo and Microsoft and Hentai and all the other crap don't I get even more complaints.

So yes, a few people killed it for everyone.  Funny how that works isn't it?  Hopefully the lesson will carry over to future similar instances.

A good solution would have been to move all of the threads in the Off Topic board, at least.

I think that if people just want to talk about games, they should simply disable the Off Topic threads in the front page. But what's done is done, and the lesson will be learned.
