The only thing I can think is in a sense, the PS3 already failed. It lost a crap load of market share and went from being sure fire winner to bottom rung fighting to take the lead. In my eyes even if it takes the lead in the end(And I still hold that wii will end up in a lead though not as major as PS2 had) it's still a failure because of those facts.

it will win and it has been selling good. not every product gets off to a flying start, i would like to know how many people would have brought a Wii for the PS3 launch price

I probably underpredicted the Wii, but supplies to the main market - NA, are lax... so who knows? it may be close to my prediction in the end of the year.

So you admit to this being viral marketing? How are you going to convince anyone not already on your bandwagon?

Sony has lost so many exclusives, so many titles and so much market share. Who do you think you're fooling? This isn't some cult religion, and even if it was I can't imagine this going anywhere more productive than a handful of heavily armed radical minded individuals twenty years down the road holed up in a survivalist complex as Jack Tretton proclaims himself the second comming of the savior. Seriously dude, if gaming isn't working out for you, try a different hobby, it's not worth reducing yourself to this.

Oh I'm not going to throw it out of the realm of possibility but I was basing my statement on current sales. About 300,00 a week would be about 1.2 million in sept and oct and about 300,000 for the rest of august. so 2.7 millon would bring us to just under 34 million and then two months of "holiday" which will undeniably see a big raise all around.(last year ds sold like 2.5 million in a week.) Yeah I guess thinking about it 37.5 is possible but I'm thinking closer to 39+ more than likely. This is of course assuming the fluctuation doesn't go incredibly low which I submit that with the fall lull and lack of core games it certainly could.

we'll just have to sit and wait.

May I recommend trying a rap song about how all you want for christmas is a PS3? It'll work better than this.
