Crash Bandicoot.... well back then......

Now.. It's just Solid Snake.

Around the Network

That Chiro cat that stars in a game on the Japanese PSN. He is kind of a mascot for Sony there. I'd also say the guy from the My Summer Vacation games.

The Time Crisis guys. They only had console versions on the Playstation.

Don't know.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

PS1.....Lara Croft
Cloud Strife
Crash Bandicoot

PS2.......GTA 3 guy...lol (I'm not a fan...so forgive me)
Gran Turismo Car
Snake

lol @ anyone saying Solid Snake. Snake appeared on the NEs way before PlayStation ever existed. There is also a Metal Gear for the PC and GameCube. Solid Snake is a playable character in Brawl.

Snake has nothing to do with the PlayStation brand.

Mister Mosquito

Yeah I said it.

Other than that... umm... just thinking out loud here...

Ratchet and Clank
Jak and Daxter
Sackboy & Sackgirl
Nathan Hale
Kratos
Nathan Drake
Sly Cooper
Spike from Ape Escape
Needles Kane/Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal
Polygon Man
The Helghast
Dante (ish)

Why does that matter? Many people consider Leon Kennedy to be a Nintendo character despite the PS2 version being the best selling, or Viewtiful Joe despite a couple games being on the Playstation 2. Lots of people consider Ninja Gaiden to be an Xbox franchise despite the series being on platforms such as the PS3 and NES. With Metal Gear Solid, the highest selling games by far are found on the Playstation platforms and they're often considered definitive despite the quality of the other versions or ports.

I believe that Crash Bandicoot was originally the mascot for Sony, but got torn to shreds during the sixth generation and the series went to other platforms to be passed off as pieces. The state that it's in right now is just laughable. Anyways, I think that the notable Sony mascots are the platforming trio known as Ratchet & Clank, Jak and Daxter, and Sly Cooper.

Am I the only person who can see a picture of a naked lady standing on her kitchen surfaces, in axumblade's post, above the word sackboy (PS3)?

OT: Kratos, Crash, Spyro, Ratchet, Jak, Clank, Daxter.

Except that he has been used as a selling point for every Playstation console? Just about every Metal Gear game can be played on a playstation console and playstation has always had original MGS games on day one, if not forever.

How many times does Snake's face needs to be attached to a PS3 box for him to be considered an iconic playstation character? Even the creator thinks Snake is strongly tied to the playstation franchise.

Kratos, Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, Sackboy, Helghast ( lol ), Solid Snake...

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

snake and sackboy are the icon of ths ps3
