@bbsin: I don't do bets. I prefer coming back here next year and mocking the one who was wrong.

I don't know the 07 numbers, but considering that Wii propably has at least 8 million lead after a year in americas and even bigger when we combine americas and others. PS2 is dying, so i wouldn't expect high numbers for it either.
A number of Wii60 and PSWii owners are going to get the Wii version for "call your shots", despite possibly owning the other version before the Wii version.

Well said, I don't think its hard to see the writing on the wall.

It's funny the only time I can get anyone to defend the Wii or its games is when I bring them under scrutiny.

You know, Onimusha, it's not 'defending the Wii' to point out that time and time again people criticize the Wii for not having massive first day sales only to end up with huge sales in the end. It's critiquing your argument and finding it lacking, having been proven wrong by the numbers time and time again.

At this point, it's not defending the Wii. It's attacking your method and your conclusion, which are incredibly flawed. Even if you said that the Wii version was sold out and the 360 and PS3 versions were plentiful, I would have a problem with your method. Don't try to pretend that this is Wii Fanboys jumping all over you because they don't like your logical, reasonable conclusion.

So people are still just as callous and indifferent towards whether this succeeds on the Wii or not. Oh well, for a second I was all excited thinking people actually wanted something to succeed on the Wii.

Madden 08 for Wii definately underwhelmed in terms of sales too. So it's not like EA isn't trying. First they gave Wii owners the regular version comparible to the PS3/X360 version, and now they are going with the campier BS version to cater to the Wii's "Lets all buy Carnival Games" crowd...And neither group, it seems, cares about football.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Alpha_dk, i dont think this will even have legs last years title ended at .78 million.... not that good for a madden title .... honestly ps3 version did poor last year too with .86 million, but compared to the wii and its user base thats fantastic. the 360 had 2.36, a bit low but not bad.

all three should be up this year with the move for the ps2 and xbox more pronnouced...

the intersting battle will be between the ps3 and the 360 in my mind, though the wii could surpise us..

the wii needs online gameplay to be truly big (and it would help to just call it madden like the rest of them) ... until then i expect the 360, to be the version to beat

also does anyone know if this will be the last ps2 version.... i know its the last xbox version

Well put. You know if they really wanted the Wii version to succeed they could add extra (desireable) content.
