Animal Crossing looks good, but one game is an incredibly weak holiday lineup. I'll probably get ToS as well, but Sonic is going to be better on 360, and Wario Land isn't worth $50 to me. So I was hoping for 1 or 2 more games, as I have no interest at all in Wii music or GTA DS.

How do you know that. Also what about games like, Deadly Creatures, and De Blob? Oh and the force unleashed, and clone wars.

also madworld,and the conduit

Reggie on Kid Icarus Wii, says the core shouldn’t feel “left out” with Nintendo’s E3 showing

July 15th, 2008 Posted in DS, News, Wii, Written by Valay

Nintendo’s E3 press conference had some highlights. Overall, however, Nintendo presented a very limited number of “hardcore” games. There was no new Zelda title, barely any mention of Mario, and even the upcoming Wario Land was absent. Reggie Fils-Aime on the other hand, strongly believes that Nintendo has enough games at this year’s E3 to support the core gamer. In a brief interview on G4 following Nintendo’s media briefing, Fils-Aime explained, “How could you feel left out? The Animal Crossing that we’ve been hearing about that people wanted. Fully connected to the Internet, go to other people’s towns. Plus as I said, Grand Theft Auto on the DS. How do you feel left out with those types of announcements?”

Fils-Aime also commented about Kid Icarus for Wii, but essentially dodged the subject: “You know, we never said he was coming. We’ve all seen the rumors and all of what we see as the desires that consumers want. Make no mistake, Mr. Iwata said quite clearly: Mario teams, Zelda teams are working, they’re bringing product out for Wii this generation. We’re going to continue to bring all our best franchises to both of our key platforms and continue driving that experience both core as well as brand new consumers.”

hopfully they will come soon

I didn't realize that every core gamer loves GTA and Animal Crossing...way to be an asshole and talk down to a whole group of people... "...How do you feel left out with those types of announcements?" What a dick.

Why shouldn't we? AC is in no way a "Core" game

And GTA DS? who care it's the wii we have been waiting for a "core" game, already have tons of them on the DS.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

^well animal crossing is also enjoyed by the hard core, but still it would of been good to have more, hopfully we will get more soon

I'll agree with this. While I'm looking forward to Animal Crossing, and think that the content they showed yesterday was pretty darn good, Nintendo's had a serious problem with presentation at their conference, and afterwards. Hopefully these guys get their A game back soon, because they've had a surprising number of tumbles so far.

Honestly, I think Nintendo is having difficulties finding the proper pace to release information about games ...

Back in the day, when they would announce and display a game as soon as they could produce an excellent playable demo, it would always seem like Nintendo had this amazing line-up that was just on the horizon but it never seemed to materialize; in a lot of ways you can say this is similar to the position that Sony has with the PS3 being that people were claiming Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Grand Turismo 5 and Grand Theft Auto 4 made the PS3's line-up the best of 2006/2007/2008 and it has now moved onto 2009.

Now they're in the position where people are becomming frustrated because they have little or no idea what is comming, and (to a certain extent) "Core" gamers are feeling left out because when they compare the line-up of the Wii to the HD consoles it seems very sparse.

Ultimately, in the future I suspect Nintendo will become a little more heads-up on giving information for some "Core" games closer to a year before they're released while keeping most of their games under wraps until they're close to being completed.

^that is also a reason
but like me and alot of other people we know that when a zelda gets announced it doesnt release until after 2 years(hopfully sooner this time)and thats why we also got angry

How is Animal Crossing a "hardcore" game???

Yes, it's popular on DS, yes, it has online option. But to say Animal Crossing is a hardcore game is no different than saying Sim is a hardcore game.

I don't get it. If Nintendo can't tell the difference between casual and core games, I really don't (and we can't) blame them to not bring out games core gamers want.
