Honestly, I think Nintendo is having difficulties finding the proper pace to release information about games ...

Back in the day, when they would announce and display a game as soon as they could produce an excellent playable demo, it would always seem like Nintendo had this amazing line-up that was just on the horizon but it never seemed to materialize; in a lot of ways you can say this is similar to the position that Sony has with the PS3 being that people were claiming Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Grand Turismo 5 and Grand Theft Auto 4 made the PS3's line-up the best of 2006/2007/2008 and it has now moved onto 2009.

Now they're in the position where people are becomming frustrated because they have little or no idea what is comming, and (to a certain extent) "Core" gamers are feeling left out because when they compare the line-up of the Wii to the HD consoles it seems very sparse.

Ultimately, in the future I suspect Nintendo will become a little more heads-up on giving information for some "Core" games closer to a year before they're released while keeping most of their games under wraps until they're close to being completed.
