Because for the longest time, it's been one of the only gaming related reasons and talking points to justify actually owning a PS3, and now there is no reason that I know of.

 

Did you just buy your PS3 in anticipation of FF XIII then? What about Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Tekken, Gran Turismo, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, etc?

Besides MGS4 and Tekken, those games are extras. Frankly, I bought my PS3 because of my PS2, and its vast JRPG library. I bought my PS2 because of FFX. I stumbled onto my Xbox 360. Frankly, forgive me if I don't think God of War and Gran Turismo are worth the price of a PS3 when the 360 is giving me what I wanted my PS3 to be to begin with.

Lets just drop my personal opinion though, I shouldn't have given it to begin with. My bad.

Last Remnant was NEVER an exclusive game. But the 360 version is time exclusive and this is also good for Microsoft.

Star Ocean 4 is probably not exclusive because they never said that.

More dics..yeah but you could also buy a 360 Elite and save the game onto your harddrive :)

No, that's wrong. They are delaying the EU/American PS3 release of FFXIII in order to release both versions at once. It will only release in Japan on the PS3 first.

God of War is not even that big a hit on the PS2. The audience while loyal is not that big relative to many other franchises. For fans of the game it's big news, but outside that most people aren't all that interested.

Damage control? I'm a Wii owner and don't have a PS3 or an Xbox 360.

Yeah man, I hate that franchise, just to expand on that: Block puzzles, poor fighting system, covered up by excellent story and characterization. If dante replaced kratos, it would be DMC2.

That said, I do understand that the thing has a loyal following.

However it's not nearly as big as any other major announcments. I equate it to a lesser Animal Crossing announcement, because while it is slightly less expected than Animal Crossing, it also has a smaller fanbase, and therefore isn't as important to console sales and software revenue, imo.

God of War is not even that big a hit on the PS2.


True but it is the biggest hit at all for me and many of the three million who bought the first .

And if we go by sales then Final Fantasy has lost much of its shine since FF VII as well. Its no Gran Turismo or GTA outside of Japan. And in Japan its apparently still PS3 exclusive. On the other hand the trailers for XIII look awesome, could be my first JRPG.

And Zen you get more out of reality by the minute. If one thing about GoW is perfect its the fighting system (besides the graphics, setting ok its just a great game ...) Devil May Cry sucks like a tornado in comparison.
