Well most of the reviews sites and magazines gave it good to very good reviews and even 1up who claimed the controls were not better still gave it an 8.0 so does this lay this whole reviewers are biased against Wii stuff to rest?

Except 1up and Eurogamer

So an 8.0 score for a remake of a two year old game is not good enough for you?

You expect reviewers to give straight 10s to everything on Wii?

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I was planning on buying this game because I love FPS's, but one thing stood out...

"You can't all of a sudden target and shoot enemies while running, for example. You will still need to stop walking to shoot."

I was wondering how we were supposed to strafe and look around with only one control. I hope it doesn't kill the game. I do though, have my motivation to hold off for a bit.

Yes, that's true. Like all Resident Evil games, in RE4 you should press the button "aim" to be able to shoot, and when you do this, your character stop running. But that don't kill the game, it is not a issue at all.

I don't have an issue with an 8.0. In my eyes, its close to the IGN score (9.0) - so 8 is reasonable.

7 however - is a different story. And the text says it all (its somewhere else on this board) - basically they hate the Wiimote contols, say it ruins the game, and mark it down accordingly. This when the other reviews say that the Wiimote controls improve the game, and mark it up accordingly.

I understand that its subjective - but so is anything that a reviewer does. I could review R&C (PS3), and give it a 5/10 - saying that the graphics SUCK (i.e. "I was expecting so much more, I just have to mark it down"...). Its still subjective, but it reeks of BS. It simply seems to me that the Wii reviewer is more than a little spiteful.

BTW - just saw Eurogamers review for "Big Brain Academy" = 5/10. To be truthful, I can't comment until I play the game (unlike with RE4 which I have finished). Still... the world according to Eurogamer:

5/10 - Big Brain Academy (Wii)

7/10 - Zoo Tycoon 2 (PC), Resident Evil 4 (Wii), Pacman (360), Odin Sphere (PS2)

8/10 - Mario Strikers (Wii), Meteos Disney (DS), Colin Macrae DIRT (360)

    9/10 - Super Stardust (PS3), Tomb Raider(PS2/PC)

...make what you will from these - but I can't see how a remake of Tomb Raider =- for the PS2 - gets 9, where Wii RE4 gets a 7 - the same score as Pacman (360) & Zoo Tycoon (PC).

Anyway - its not like I visit that site, or look at their reviews anyway. Was just trying to make a point...

I've only been playing the game for about 10 minutes (got pulled away by the phone) and I can already say two things about it:

  1. The voice that says Resident Evil 4 at the Wii Menu and titles screen is made of win.  It's so bad in a powerglove way.
  2. The controls are great, and I'm even playing this left handed.  It's a little awkward  the first few minutes but you have it down cold by the time you reach the first save point.

twesterm you are truly a retard. Your the one buying a game with no updates on the original, it would of taken them 3 months to make the game alot better looking but they refused to do that and are now taking your money for the same game that came out years ago.

The wii games cost the same as the games for 360 ans PS3, and their are alot of games for the 360 that are under $20, so tell me who has the better deal, its not the wii.

Plus the wii and DS are so easy to find, all you guys going on about it being sold out are just lazy, i can go out any weekend and get the wii and find about 100 DS systems.

Congratulations, you managed to interrupt an intelligent discussion with an ignorrant flame war.  He (and I) are paying 10 bucks more than the cost of the game on Gamecube or PS2, for an updated control scheme, and the PS2 extras that many of us missed because we had the Gamecube version (in my case I owned a Gamecube and PS2, but bought the Gamecube version before the PS2 one was released).

Wii games don't cost the same as 360 and PS3 games... they are $50 new, vs $60 new for a PS3 and 360 game.  This game, RE4, is $30 new, half the price of a new 360 or PS3 game.  As for Wii graphics, look at some screens of SSBB, SMG, FF:CC, or pretty much any game comming out in the next year.

Have fun living on fantasy island, where the Wii and DS are apparently in last place, PS3s and PSPs are sold out everywhere, everyone agrees with you and your opinion is the most important thing in the world.  No one wants to deal with an ignorant fanboy who doesn't have a single fact to back up anything he says.  Now go look up some facts before you come in here spouting fanboy crap again.

Back on topic: Gamestop was sold out today when I came in around 1PM.  I'll check other stores around town tomorrow, but I wish I had found a copy :(

Fuck Gamestop, go to Best Buy, Walmart, Target (though not sure those carry M games), or Circuit City.

Interesting side note: the game lets you use the Gamecube and Classic Controllers as well as the motion controls. I hadn't heard anything about this until randomly trying and I suppose it's a nice touch if you just don't like the motion controls.

BEST BUY in my area is sold out
gamestop- sold out
ebgames- almost sold out (less than half left)
target- hasn't gotten yet.
