The problem is that when you think something is established in one thread, you go back to zero in a newer thread.

I ain't seeing nothing on Wii that couldn't be done on Xbox. |
Games don't prove which system is more powerful, unless it's a game on the more powerful system being ported to the less powerful. Since most of the Wii games aren't on the Xbox, that's a bullshit way to try to measure the Wii's power.
BTW, there is a game being ported from the Xbox to the Wii (just need someone to tell me it's name), and it's been announced it will have graphical updates, so that proves that comment is not evidence of anything.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

maybe the Wii have some advanced technology’s thats the first xbox dont have ... for example : advanced shaders.

Please u guys can u read my other comments please. U will no everything. The Wii uses TEV for shaders. XBOX has real shaders which can ultimatley pull of shaders easier than wii's TEV. But TEV can replicate the exact same thing with the TEV, it is just harder to do. The wii surpasses XBOX in Multi Texturing and is capable of doing thing that the XBOX couldnt. But XBOX also can do some thing that the wii cant easily do.
| Mint said: 360 has been clocked at 3.2 GHz CPU
360 has 512 MB of RAM PS3 has 256 MB of RAM Wii has 88 MB of RAM xBox has 64 MB of RAM GC has 43 MB of RAM PS2 has 32 MB of RAM DC has 16 MB of RAM
This is just CPU speeds and RAM, not taking GPU, or everything else in account. |
You forget 3 cores at 3.2 in the 360 and 1 cpu 6 spu's in the PS3 all for individual programming. and the Wii has one cpu at 729 mhz.
All made by IBM but I guess the spin would be Ibm made the best for Wii????
this doesnt even account for the gpu's in the next gen consoles wheres the 5.1 sound and 1080p output. Apples and oranges
Its like looking at Cod4 and the running a quake game in Open GL on a pc at 1280x1224 image looks good and its 10 years old way less effects and bells and whistles but lines of resolution was way up so even if wii could do an image at that res what would it look like muddeled.
Hell the PS3 and 360 upconvert most games already to that resolution.
the games will always have less bells and whistles and be less polished because the it lacks the memmory and balls
this is not to say that there wont be pretty games they just wont have all the fog lighting blood spray shadowing all at once.

No it's not. He makes two major mistakes. 1. His assertion of the Wii's capabilities. I think we've established that issue well enough already. 2. His assertion of what real console gaming is. What is real console gaming? What he should have stated instead is the games largely do not appeal to him. The difference in Halo and Carnival Games as a video game is null. When you assume they hold separate qualifications as a video game is the same as assuming a sports car is more of a real vehicle than a truck. Separate consumer markets, separate characteristics, separate prices but both are still very much a real vehicle. |
You'd rather try to teach a dog some theoretical physics , than trying to make a Sony fanboy understand this stuff.
I'm sure the dog will at least listen to you.
| Leetgeek said: The Wii is about as powerful as the original Xbox. But that's not a total diss, the XBox was VERY powerful for its time. |
No is not, Power PC arch is vastly superior to the x86 on the xbox, it features a more powerfull CPU, more and faster ram, and they add the double amount of pipelines to the GPU dupliating the amount of filtering pass with the tex unit from 8 to 16, even if is about the same clock speed, it can push more effects...
The wii is more powerfull... not by a huge margin, but it is...
Not to flame or get off topic but its funny this gens consoles particularly the PS3 vs 360
the 360 gets flamed for not having a HD in every system and hence no swap file for extra system memmory which the original xbox used great for games like halo for open world driving and gun fight in large areas.
I dont recall seeing a wii game or gamecube game using wide open environments with loading on the fly.
The ps3 recreates this with Resistence and with 512 megs of ram the 360 does alright but the original halo seamed so big.
pure tech #'s dont show how important a good swap file is and how much quicker the load times are how levels can be bigger.
thats why Pc games are bigger in scope system ram varies but swap files or virtual memmory push the envelope.
So pretty and small vs wide open and huge.
what games do you know on the Gc and wii fit the open and huge with great visuals alla original halo.
re4 was very pretty not very wide open except for some boss fight

Did you intentionally plug your ears, or rather eyes, to the entire thread before posting or do you just like to instigate for the sake of angering people? You're 32, act like it. |
hi there!
could you please point out whats "angering" as you put it about these points that i made.
i dont think theres anything up there that is angering at all. so its actually you who need to act your age.
child/family games dont appeal to me. ps360 has much greater games. its best to leave it at that.
@Fazz stop your childish remarks and grow up, stop taking things as if your life is depending on it. i think playing hannah montana the game, is having an effect on you!
...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...
