You know, Kirby, I am kind of in your boat. While I enjoyed Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, I still prefer real-time RPGs like Fable, Mass Effect, Oblivion.

I won't say they are overrated, but Final Fantasy did nada for me.

sadly people like you( I guess you are one of those people who can't concentrate for more then 1 minute) have made companies destroy the wonderful world of turnbased RPG's

 

just look at FF12.

I played Fable and Mass Effect.  Fable is good if overhyped and Mass Effect had a well written story but the combat was unbearable and was a big disappointment for me

Which ones might those be?

Chrono Trigger, Golden Sun 1&2, FFVI, Earthbound, Etc all had stories that don't fit those adjectives.
