Yes, it's true. http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/Network/Status (here's a screen of the page in case it's back up when you read it: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3060/2607324771_62c8b35964_m.jpg) When you try to sign in, it says "use of the playstation network has been suspended."

Could it be??! In-game XMB/trophies????!!!!!!! PLEEEEAAAAAASSSEEEE......

PS3fanboy.com asked them about it, and they said it was just a regularly scheduled maintenance. Whether or not that proves anything is up to you I guess.

i dont think its the actual update, but surely they are updating things in place for the release of the 2.4 patch.

im not a fan of gamerscore or gamer trophies, but the other additions are a big welcome for me. ps3 is getting better by the day

Normal maintanence? Sony didn't send an update to users? That is terrible, at least Microsoft sends out notices when XBL is going to be down for maintanence.

All Sony had to do was put the item in there news scroll.

Shame on Sony.

I don't like to bash companies, but Sony dropped the ball on this one.

Not if they purposely did this so that people did not tknow about it.  They may have something going on that they didn't want people to get hyped up about in advance.

Is he serious? Or just a troll? o.O

 

Anyway, I wouldn't hold my breath. I'd bet it's just maintenance...they've done this in the past without anything major I believe. I do hope I'm wrong though, in-game XMB is something I REALLY want as soon as possible.
