Who knows, maybe this is the point when loyal ps-followers start looking to replace their ps2 with ps3. Some day it will happen.

As long as sony brings in the 80gb PS3 bundles, sales can actually increase in NA, therefore as long as the MGS4 80gb ps3 is available I expect PS3 sales to remain above average.

Now, Snake612, you overstated it saying the Ps3 saw TREMENDOUS sales. Its sales were like Wii's on a better week.

This bundle should keep Ps3 sales elevated till AT LEAST August. You are also wrong about the Ps3 passing the Wii for the 1st time. In fact, it did so on the European launch, it lost to Wii by about 3k on the Gt5:p launch (i almost beat the Wii WW), and it has beat the Wii more than 1 week in each territory.

I really don't expect it to win a week against the Wii WW for the rest of 08 unless there are more Mgs4 type games for it, and the rest of the games coming for it this year are NOT of Mgs4 calibur at all. (that means you LBP.)

It peaked last week. This week will be less, then less, then normal. So by 4th week it will have returned to normal levels.

@daactualfact, I didn't know that but i'm still happy that the ps3 sales are increasing. I accidently put this thread on the wrong forum.

As long as the 80 gig is replenished, sales will be higher than average.

Depends on how many there will be 80Gb bundles in USA.
On how many welcome bundles there will be in Japan.

Europe... there is no even dualshock 3 released yet.. and only 40Gb model, wtf..
looks like Sony is already pleased with ps3 sales in Europe.

Overall, MGS4 is definitely a system seller and should have good legs.

Japan will stay high(er than usual for) for another month, in the US it will be higher than it was before for ever, because of the 80GB. In others it will be about 2 weeks before it is back below 100k

Heightened sales of this weeks sort will be over in 1-3 weeks I think, but I believe it could get a sustained HW boost now between GT 5: Prologue, GTA IV and MGS IV and many potential buyers know that the goods are on the way.
