Actually, many websites have reported that KZ2's gameplay really isn't anything special, that the game feels "last-gen," and that the graphics aren't anything to write home about. Aside from that, KZ1 came out in 2005, when the PS2's userbase was several times what the PS3's will be when KZ2 came out, and the former received just as much hype; in fact, Sony touted it as a "Halo-killer." It only sold 750k.

Twisted Metal Black came out in mid-2001, so perhaps a better comparison would be Twisted Metal 4 for the PS1, released in 1999, when the PS1 had a huge install base. That game sold only about 1.25 million, and that was back when people actually cared about the Twisted Metal franchise.

As for LBP, we'll see, but the fact that it's a cutesy casual game on a hardcore-geared platform, combined with the developer's unproven track record (the only game they've made before was the dismal Rag Doll Kung Fu), has me doubtful, to say the least.

And on a final note: If you're going to sound like a jack-ass, at least try to do so in style, rather than that "hurr I'm right you're wrong" schtick. It just makes you sound like a twelve year old.

Fair points; I knew all that and that such things can be spun both ways. Nevertheless, I think that an accurate finger on the pulse of PS3 (yes, MGS4 sales are a part of it) discloses that these games will sell higher than the original prediction I was responding to. Are you telling me you think these 3 games will sell closer to 999,999 each than to 3, 2, and 2 mil? Let's wait and see, then.

Your original use of "fanboy" toward me was inappropriate given that I'm probably more right than the post I was responding to (to be more right than the prediction of "under a million each", the games have to sell 2, 1.5, and 1.5 million respectively....and for my predictions I get called a fanboy....) Your last paragraph here is therefore especially funny, as you add additional epithets and insinuations. You are using the same "schtick" I am, except that you seem to like ad hominem attacks more. Your last paragraph is intended to give the appearance of your victory while adding insults. But I think I will be proven right...far too late to confront you on your small-mindedness and disrespect. But that's the internet for you.

Does it really matter if a game on the 360 is on the PC too?

If game which also is on PC DOESN`T listed as exclusive, then yes, it doesn`t matter. =)
x360 don`t have enough REAL exclusives, that it use pc/x360 games? That`s kinda lame.
We talk about games, which would make PEOPLE buy the specific system, to play them.
I played gears on pc. =]

Xbox360 owners - play and enjoy those games. PS3 owners do not, since im backed up by NPD statistics that show 95% of people don't own more than one current gen console so I can presume a similar trend between the PC and the Xbox360. Because of that trend, I can say that for most people, games coming out on both the Xbox360 or PC are exclusive to their sole/main platform. I can therefore be happy to call it an exclusive, furthermore I can say that it benifits the Xbox360 by providing a larger market for more third party games to be released on. It doesn't matter how much you try to deny the validity of selecting these games as a reason to own the 360, people generally don't own more than one platform so for all intents and purposes they are pretty much exclusive anyway. When taken into account as "games available" to a system, the Xbox360 as a sole platform for anyone will continue to be arguably the best place to find quality games for the forseeable future. If you don't like it... Fine, I don't care. You can sit there on your high horse while the 360 dominates the Shooter, WRPG, Strategy genres and competes heavily in the JRPG, Action and simulation genres. (PC excluded because this is a console discussion)

Tease.

While it's true that 360 has a strong lineup, I don't think it's true that HD console owners seldom or never play PC games.  Especially among early adopters of the consoles, people do play PC games.  Just because people don't often play PS3 and 360, doesn't mean they don't play both PS3 and PC (the number will be way, way, higher than 5%.)  For people who have PCs looking to play the most good games possible, I'd say PS3 and PC beats 360 and PC.

u will hit your crow later about KZ2 sales

After MGS4 sales, I expected people to understand that :

- looking at prequel sales is BS
- compare userbase of last gen console is BS
- HYPE is VERY important ...

And guess what ??? KZ2 is full of HYPE

Also KZ2, despite having a classical gameplay
was NEVER bashed
(except 1up that claimed IA was bad and, the same day, Halo3 IA was amazing LOLLLLL)

Time to Work !

Whatever you say, brostradamus.

@ libellule: MGS4 is the exception that proves the rule, rather than the opposite. No other hyped PS3 exclusive thus far has so defied skeptics' predictions, and I have doubts that any title outside of FFXIII will, either.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Buying a PC+360 has too much double-up. IMO PC+PS3 or Wii60/WiiPC are the best combinations, PS3/360 has too much double up, so has a similar problem to the PC+360 combination. Because of the double up between PC+360, it makes the most sense for anyone to pick one of the two and another console to suplement the experience. There will be a constant influx of PC-gamers to the 360 due to the abundance of familiar franchises and game types on the system and there will be a smaller exflux of gamers to the PC from the 360 for those same reasons. Amongst the harcore, there is always a tendency to own more than one system ( I own them all) because of a greater apetite for games and an angst at not being able to play the best games from other platforms. This is not so true of the average gamer, he or she would probably stick with one platform and buy all their games on it. It is for this crowd, that the term exclusive applies.

Same game with Better graphics = exclusive? =))

MLB 08 The Show is much more than 07 with better graphics. The RTTS mode is incredibly deep and much more realistic than any other Baseball game on the market, it is not just make a character, sim a season and somehow smack 150+ HR a season, it can take anywhere from 2-3 up to 10+ years to make it to the bigs depending on how you perform, which just like real life, is no easy task.  You go ahead and play that, then play MLB 2k8 and let me know which performs more like an actual Baseball game.

Ask any Baseball fan around and they will tell you that up until the release of 08 The Show, MVP 2005 was the best on the market.

Indeed it should be counted as exclusive. You can't play the best Baseball Sim anywhere but the PS3. Go read on the message boards for that game as well, you will see plenty of people who purchased PS3's for that game alone. It is one of the reasons I chose the PS3 first.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Fable 2 will be a million seller for sure. I'm not so sure about Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet and Twisted Metal becoming a million seller though...

Littlebigplanet will reach 750k + in its first week alone
